1962 Ford Galaxie Additional Info:
Just in time for summer cruising season here is a nice 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner convertible that is ready to enjoy. Painted in beautiful Corinthian white with burgundy interior and burgundy matching convertible cloth top. the Thunderbird 292 V-8 and Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission. The previous owner claims 61,000 original miles but can't be verified. The motor was rebuilt a few years ago and I have about $2500 in receipts showing so. The car runs and drives down the road as it should with a smooth motor and nice shifting trans. The car has power steering and brakes and a power top (little slow) so it is easy to drive. I have just added a new gas tank and mufflers. Tires are in very good condition. One professional repaint years ago in the original color that is holding up very nicely. I haven't found any issues with the paint regarding major flaws such as orange peel or runs or dirt. It is very nice. From what I can find it has had both quarters replaced but all the other sheetmetal looks nice and original with no dents or signs of patching or bondo. I had the car up on a rack and underneath is nice and clean. No rusted out floors or rockers. The stainless is all very nice and pretty much dent free and the chrome plated pot metal trim is free from major pitting. The rocker moldings show some road rash but are still presentable. Glass is all nice except windshield is cracked at the lower right corner. All windows roll up and down nice and the back window is nice just starting to show a little age. The convertible top has been replaced at some point and in very good condition. Exterior condition is very nice overall with nice door gaps and straight panels but the bumpers are original and have their fair share of bings and bongs. Not horrible but not perfect either. As I mentioned earlier, the motor has been rebuilt and is clean both inside and out. The engine compartment looks all original and unmolested. Motor starts easily with no hint of smoke or issues. The interior appears all original also. The front bench has some cracking on both lower skirts but that's the worst of it. Carpeting may have been replaced but I can't be 100% sure. All gauges and lights work including the original radio. The trunk is tidy with the factory mat and jack and spare.
The car is very presentable save for the couple cosmetic issues I mentioned and is mechanically sound. I believe the miles are correct do to the condition of gas and brake pedals and the cleanliness of the engine compartment and interior. I would not hesitate to drive the car on any long distance cruise. It's a very honest car at an affordable price. Sold as is with no warranty on a clean Arizona title. Please do not ask the reserve price. I will not disclose that. The Buy-it-Now price is more than fair for this car. Please call for more info and pictures. 480 209 0295 Don. Deposit is non-refundable.
