1980 Ford F-100 Additional Info:
I bought this truck from the original owner to use as a parts truck, and in the 50 mile drive home I decided it was too good to tear apart. It's a Ford F-100 Custom Cab. This was Fords plain Jane base 12 ton truck for 1980. 1980 was the first year Ford used this body style, and this body style was the last one they used for the F-100 series. The truck is all original, and has manual brakes, steering and transmission, and no air conditioning. It only has 91,600 original miles on it. It comes with the original jack, lug wrench, owners manual, as well as the original buyers contract. The truck has been in Arkansas its whole life, and has seen little to no road salt. It has one of the greatest engines Ford ever made, the bullet proof 4.9 L. 300 C.I. straight 6. It runs smooth and strong with no smoke, and it doesn't leak much of anything either. The truck has a three speed manual transmission that the previous owner relocated from the steering column to the floor. Back in the day they actually made kits to retrofit the stick shift to the floor. Kind of funky but works great. I put a brand new set of tires on the truck because the old ones were dry rotted. I also found an original AM radio to replace the old after market cassette player that was in there. The body is very solid, and nearly rust free, with only one exception. There is some rust starting above the right side rear wheel well, as you can see in the picture. Otherwise only some light surface rust where the paint has worn off or is scratched. The truck is pretty straight with only some minor dings and scratches. A real survivor. It runs down the highway just fine, but as with any old vehicle that has been sitting for awhile, it will need some work. The brakes work OK, but should be bled. The emergency brake cables need oiling or replaced. The steering has play in it. The interior is showing its age. The top of the dash is trashed, the vinyl floor covering has holes in it, The plastic door panels are getting rough and the seat could use upholstering. This truck could be a great one with a little work. I have a 300 six long block, that I pulled out of a 1982 F-150 that can go with the truck. It ran great when pulled, but was leaking oil. I also have an original seat cover that's dirty but in good shape, as well as various other parts that can go with the truck. My low starting bid is around what I have in the truck, so bid high and often :-). If you want the truck shipped, I will work with your shipper in any way I can, and I may be able to deliver it a reasonable distance for a fee. Please look at the pictures closely, and ask any questions you may have before you bid. Good luck and happy bidding.
