1968 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback "Factory Custom Order" Additional Info:
2nd owner car, 1968 Galaxie 500 Fastback, 240 straight six, column shift manual, power brakes disc front, power steering, am fm radio. Original numbers matching engine, and transmission. This is a very odd ball custom order. All fastbacks came with a v8 standard, and the straight six is very rare to be factory original. Have heard this could be 1 of 50 made, but that is unconfirmed. Car was originally black, it currently has a clean white paint job. Expect some defects and chips, etc... Car is complete, and runs good. Has aluminumradiator. The interior is getting dry now, and seats are starting to come apart. Expect damage but over all decent used shape. dash has some of the coating coming off too. Was originallya tan interior but is now black. The Column shift needs fixed, and is currently a floor shift setup. Sometimes it pops out of 2nd gear. Also the radio isn't working. The odometer has stopped working, guessing its a cable issue. Car has no more than 65,000 miles on it. Probably a few other issues, as most old cars have without full restoration. It is a Californiacar its whole life, and is currently registered. Would be great as a collector car as the configuration is not common. Could also be great for someone who wants the looks of a fastback and the good mileageof the straight six. Would also male a great start for a V8 swap if you wanted to go that way too. Please message with any questions and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks
