1964 Ford F-100 Custom Cab Additional Info:
I have a 1964 F100 Custom Cab short wheel base styleside pickup listed for sale at no reserve. I have a clear title for the F-100 in my name.
Serious bidders may come inspect the truck during the auction.
This truck has not been driven in several years. The prior owner stated that he kept having problems with the fuel system and carburetor so he let it set up. I borrowed a good battery from another vehicle and the starter engaged and spun the motor over rather well. I did not try to get it to run. I would expect that it would take at a minimum a new battery, fuel system, fuel lines and a carb rebuild to get it running.
The truck has a 292 Ford "Y" block V8 engine with a 4 speed manual floor shift transmission. It is a very complete truck but it appears that most everything will need to be refinished unless the buyer is into the shop truck, rat rod or patina look.
The truck was likely originally painted in Ford Caribbean Turquoise. It has been repainted several times over the years in the ugly faded and peeling black color that it is currently.
The truck has rust here and there as expected. The cab floor has several rust spots. The prior owner placed huge metal patches to cover the floor. This should be removed so that the rust holes could be properly repaired.
A prior owner welded flat sheet metal over the factory metal bed floor.
The passenger bed side corner needs to be repaired or replaced.
The tailgate is hard to open and close without a lot of finessing.
The hood is dented and warped. I purchased a very nice original 1964 hood which is included in the sale. The passenger side inner fender well has a hole caused from a leaking battery. I installed a very nice original 1964 replacement battery tray. I purchased a very nice pass side fender well which is included in the sale. I also purchased a spare pass side 64 fender and (4) original style 1964 pickup "innie style" 15" Ford rims which are included in the sale.
The windshield is cracked and chipped. The windows and back glass are in good condition.
