1971 Ford Mustang MACH 1 Additional Info:
Rare Ram Air 351 C 2 barrel car Very very rare to have a Ram Air 2 barrel Mach 1. This car has factory rim blow steering wheel Factory fold down rear seat which is optional, even in the Mach 1! Factory air-conditioning & factory power steering. The car has Pioneer stereo cassette player. The owner said this is the original mileage "51874â€. The engine sounds very strong & solid in this car. Transmission shifts nice also. I change the oil and rebuilt the carburetor before starting the engine. This car was restored and repainted about 21 years ago with lots of new parts. It has headers and supposedly has a mild cam. It had an Edelbrock 2750 & a nice 600 Holley 4 barrel on it which is in the last picture # 24. For some crazy reason the owner want to bring it back to original so he put the two barrel back on it! The intake and four barrel will be offered at additional cost to the buyer after sale! This car was bought at Carlisle Pa. car show in 1999. Back at that time the car was like show condition. This car was originally a Southern California car. That's why the underneath, engine compartment and frame is so good. Because of the owners medical issues, the car sat after the first year. That was the last year registered in 1999 he only registered it for one year. The car sat outside for many years before finally going into the barn! The car sat and with leaves falling into all the nooks and crannies trapping moisture in there. That's why certain parts of the fenders and doors got rusty and the tail light panel. The hood and the trunk lid got so rusty because critters were living in there and packed it with nests. The hood, trunk lid & tail light panel are definitely shot! The cowl vents are leakin, like all the other mustangs out there I made thin sheet metal covers and silicones them in place until someone fixes the vents. You will see the red covers under the back of the hood in one of the pictures. They will pop right off and I even covered all the little holes that held the molding on around them. This car was painted with basecoat clearcoat if you look about 3/4 the way up the side of the car you will see the clearcoat a lot of it has come off so it makes the car look worse than it is. The car had a dent in the roof that I popped out also. At the time the car was parked the owner said he it had neutral safety switch issues. After the man's medical issues the ignition did not work so that's why it sat there so long. I did not fix that issue I jump started the car by the solenoid and hardwired the coil to drive the car up and down the road. I don't want to hide anything on this car I want you to know every detail about it, so feel free to ask any questions and asked for more pictures. I did my best to put a video of this car on YouTube walking around the car, the inside and underneath plus driving it down the road. The video is on YOU TUBE called (RARE 1971 MUSTANG MACH 1 RAM AIR BARN FIND) I never posted anything to YouTube before!!! This a really nice car to restore and an easy one to restore! ( Serious bidders only! ) God bless! Rick
