1935 Ford Convertible Additional Info:

The 1935 Ford started life as a Tudor it is now titled as a 1935 ford convertible. It is mounted on a 1940 ford frame so it has hydraulic brakes with drum on the back and disc on the front. It is powered by an original 100 hp flathead v8 upgraded to electronic ignition coupled to a BorgWarner T5, fully synchro 5 speed transmission. It has an open drive shaft, with ladder bars to support the 4:11 banjo rear end. The body is built of basswood, one inner 3/4" layer and one 3/4" outer layer with a 1-1/2" framework in between. The trim wood and windshield frame are all made from paduk. The car has about 10 coats of varnish, with the last few sprayed. Seats are leather from a Subaru. The front seats fold down to allow easy access to the spacious rear seat area and leather Subaru seats. The car does not have a top but does have a sporty toneau cover. It has 15" radial tires for a great ride and easy handling. The car sports a custom made storage trunk on the rear. The plaque on the trunk is an actual Traverse City Chamber of Commerce area promotion piece from the 1930's.
