1967 Ford Mustang 13 window special E series Additional Info:
I came across this van sitting in the woods along with about a 100 other old vehicles outside of Martinsville Va. a friend of mine took me to look for a Mustang in that area and we wound up at this guys place. There was not a single mustang there. I wandered around the trees and maze of old cars trying to find something to buy so I didn't go home with an empty trailer and all I could find was this little old van sitting there piled full of old parts. the guy said he drove it in there and parked it years before with the hopes of restoring it into a cool thing to chase and deliver parts in. Life happened for him and he never got to it. So my friend and us drug 3 or 4 old cars out of the way and this is what I came home with on that day of Mustang hunting. We met some new friends bought a few more old parts and had a good day telling tells of the past to each other. Now that's the story of how I wound up with it, so let me tell you about the Van. It is pretty complete drivetrain wise, 6 cyl. 3 speed that does turn over freely. The windows are all there except the right front door window, the windshield is cracked . the 2 middle windows on each side fold open, that's pretty neat. The original seats are long gone and someone had installed a couple of bucket seats in it that I unbolted and are sitting inside of the van. It does not run and needs complete restoration. The frame rails and main body and floor are pretty solid. There is some rust in the corners of the door openings and in the bottoms of the doors, but that should be easily repaired. It rolls and steers and I will assist in loading for transport. please call me with any questions. I will tell you all about it. It is being sold as is. It has a straight axle front end under it like the old gassers used to run drag racing. There used to be one of these vans show up at Bristol at Thunder Valley Dragstrip and it would run the whole 1/4 mile on the rear wheels as an exhibition stunt. This would be a good one to fix up and have your business name on the way the old speed shops and performance shops used to have. I watched a two part episode rerun show on the Motor trend network of Full Custom Garage titled Two Falcons last night where they restored a van exactly like this and it just about caused me to want to keep it and fix it myself but I have too many projects. You should look the shows up and see how really cool this project could be. Call for more Info.
