Looking for a fun short-wheelbase 4x4 that's affordable and loaded? This 1986 Ford Bronco II Eddie Bauer edition offers distinction and ability, and it's all for quite a nice price. The Bronco II is a favorite of the off-road crowd because it combines a Jeep-like wheelbase with a fully enclosed body that's fashionable in the city or out on the trail. But rarely do we find one that meets our standards. So we're particularly excited to have this... example. It was rumored to be originally purchased by the owner of a Ford dealer, so you know it's loaded and cared for correctly. Averaging around only 2,500 miles annually, straight body panels, and quality respray â€" it's an outstanding classic. In fact, the blue has a nice metallic luster in the sunshine, so you really want to get it out into nature. And that distinction is backed up further by plenty of pinstriping to match the lower tan. The excess of the 1980s didn't extend to chrome, so there is only tasteful brightwork in the grille, mirror-like bumpers, and the useful trailering mirrors. In back is a true Bronco hallmark: the optional swing-away spare tire in its original Bronco II cover. Inside is where the top-of-the-line Eddie Bauer package is the most welcomed. It shows that an off-roader can be both rugged and sophisticated. The cloth interior has a nice outdoor pattern that has remained distinct on the well-bolstered bucket seats. The same outline is matched on the split folding rear bench. This Bronco is loaded with factory options like power windows, power locks, wood trim decor, and air conditioning (now blowing cold with modern R134a.) Plus, there's an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo so you can play modern tunes on your way into to town or up the trail. These Bronco IIs have such a great off-road reputation because they combine a compact wheelbase with good ground clearance. The motor is believed to be original to the 4x4, and it certainly looks the part of a well-respected survivor. This 1986 model came along after Ford upgraded the motor to a fuel-injected 2.9-liter V6. That means a better power delivery with added torque to pull you up the hill. While all of this sounds like your perfect off-road toy, this Bronco is also equipped to all kinds of journeys. Feel free to drive this one to work or the campsite with convenient features such as power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and upgraded HID headlights. You even have great long-haul features cruise control and a four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive. Complete with owner's manual, Ford has a new Bronco on the way, and so these classic Bronco II's are getting harder and harder to find. This might be your last opportunity at one that's this complete, loaded, and still quite affordable. Call now!
