Total body off the frame restoration by a renowned Ford restorer. It is a high quality car cosmetically and mechanically. Ford was the last major manufacturer still producing a "woody" with real wood. It was the most expensive Ford you could buy. The 49 Ford was a styling sensation. So different from cars prior, that until now had separate pontoon style fenders. Lack of sales kept production low. Today interest and prices are high- a woody cost is 250% higher... then a metal hardtop and 50% higher then even a convertible. This one is priced aggressively and is one of the best available. EXTERIOR: Restored to look new. The metal is rust free, damage free. Has a maroon metallic paint polished like glass. The 2 tone wood is beautiful. It appears to be completely redone, has a semi gloss finish. All new tinted glass with new rubber gaskets and fuzzy seals. Windows roll and slide easy. All of the chrome has been replated. The stainless trim is polished. Rims are painted body color, deluxe trim is new. The tires are reproduction Firestone whitewalls. In back it has continental kit mounted to the working tailgate. INTERIOR: Look at that dash- gorgeous work of art! The painted faux woodgrain on the dash and interior trim is redone spot on. The knobs sparkle, gauges are all contained in one neat cluster. Fully loaded too- 3rd row seating, a radio, clock and deluxe heater. Yep, that's loaded in 1949. Heater works, clock is ticking, gauges work. There is original literature in the glovebox. The side panels are actual wood and have a beautiful finish. The 2 front seats and armrests have been correctly upholstered. New cloth headliner and visors. Correct rubber mat covers the floor. Interior chrome trim has been redone. There are seat belts in the 2nd row seat (for the grandkids). ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Completely restored to stock specs. Every component restored like new. It is cosmetically detailed to show quality. All new cloth wrapped wiring. The flathead V-8 purrs. We stored this car a few months before putting it up for sale, I got in and it fired right up and ran smooth. UNDERSIDE: Body was off the frame and everything underneath was restored. The bottom of the body is all metal and sprayed with a color matched thin chip gaurd. The chassis was cleaned and painted black. All the suspension and steering was rebuilt. Brakes, shocks, exhaust were replaced. Master cylinder is rebuilt. New u-joints, drive shaft, brake hoses and lines. E-brake is hooked up. Has 3-speed trans with overdrive for cruising at highway speeds. Bottom of motor is spotless. What a nostalgic piece of Americana. Sure to put smiles on many faces. This is the only way to buy one- already restored! Saves time and money. This is a good one. No, a great one! 3rd row seat Metal visor Hood ornament Bumper gaurds White walls Deluxe wheel trim Radio Continental kit
