1948 Ford F3 Hot Rod Rat Rod Pick-Up Truck w 1969 Camaro SS BBC Speed Shop Engine ~ 1989 Frame Up Restoration
This 1948 F-3 pickup has been in the family since 1989, selling as-is, for a project truck or daily driver. Most of the restoration took place in 1989-1990, body was lifted from frame, all new paint, removed some of the leaf springs for a softer ride, front end was replaced with AMC Pacer (rack & pinion steering), etc. etc. If I remember right the engine is from a 1969 Camaro SS 396, maybe the pic of engine block stamping on passenger side/front (looks like CE 060692) will help to identify, not sure where the automatic transmission came from.
We made many updates/repairs in the spring of 2017, new upper & lower ball joints/new bellows followed immediately with alignment, new brake pads, new master brake cylinder, new tie rod ends, new water pump, new manifold gaskets, transmission flushed/fluids & filter replaced, new summit radiator with transmission cooler (part # SUM-381324), new radiator hoses/clamps, new HEI spark plug wires/new spark plugs, the four Good Year tires are a few years old but with very few miles on them-lots of tread left. I also have 2 additional sets of steel rims that fit this truck with a 10 bolt pattern for different widths/sizes of tires. There are two fuel tanks, original one in cab and a fuel cell in back, it runs best on high octane gas. Not all of the gauges work 100%, I know that the temperature and oil ones do, don't think that the speedometer shows the correct speed. Fuel gauge not accurate. Just hooked up a brand new Diehard battery, it's located in the tote in bed.
Body needs paint, the wood in bed still solid but back-end was never professionally finished. I've taken photos of any issues with flaking/rust which occurred in New England years ago, stabilized after arriving in the southwest. Its been in NM since 2006, unfortunately the sun took a toll on the clearcoat. Some rust at bottom outside corners of driver side door (see pictures-inside of door is good), also where frame meets bumper. Signals/headlights/tail lights/brake lights all work. Chip in windshield was repaired years ago, still holding. Drivers side door handle inside needs fixed, outside drivers side latch works. You have to access the master brake cylinder from drivers side floor under mat. I'm sure she has more quirks that I haven't mentioned or don't even know about so feel free to ask questions/request additional pics and I will do my best to follow up!
Local pickup or you can arrange to have it shipped via auto transport after payment has been received/clears (cash/cashiers check).
