1965 Ford Mustang Convertible Additional Info:
Relist- buyer didn’t have funds.
The Mustang first made it's debut on April 17, 1964 at the New York Worlds Fair. Lee Iacocca, born and educated in Allentown, PA was an executive with Ford Motor Company. Mr Iacocca, known as the "Father of the Mustang" autographed this car. - Included are authenticity documents. This car was built in June, just 2 months after the Mustang introduction. Early cars are nicknamed 64 1/2 because they were mid-year cars. This car is the real-deal 64 1/2. Color Keyed Door Locks, Generator, "A"on Air Vent Knob. Etc.
It also is the sought after 289 D-Code 4 barrel engine. Automatic Transmission, Center Console, and power convertible top.
I purchased this car in 1981 from the original owner, sold it to my uncle in 1985 and bought it back in 1998. I am the B&D title owner. The typical rust areas, floor pans, R/Frame Rails were replaced as well as the Rear Quarter Panels in 1989. The Engine & Transmission were rebuilt at 89,000 miles. The car was painted in it's original Cascade Green. Somewhere about 1992, the car was caught in a hail storm which tore the top and dented the top surfaces. I could not get the camera to pick up the dents. The car has not been repainted since. I replaced the top & bumpers recently. The car runs and drives well, and from 10 feet looks stunning. I have receipts and photos of bodywork that was done in 1989. New Master Cylinder and wheel cylinders last week.
It is an easy restoration project as the hard stuff is done. It will need paint and some body work redone from aging and the engine compartment detailed, but it’s only cosmetic and can be driven.
I have a clear PA title in my name.
I will not end the auction early. If you want the car, please bid on it.
