1986 Ford Ranger Additional Info:
1986 Ford Ranger 4X4 pickup. Zero rust southwest desert truck. It is unmolested original condition with a bunch of miles on it, but it still runs like new. It has the original paint on it that is quite faded from the desert sun and the right fender has been replaced many years ago from a fight with a tree. This was always saved for the cabin up north and has had very meticulous maintenance as this was our back country truck and it had to be dependable. It was mechanic owned and has been well taken care of. It has a new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and oil change in the past 30 days. There are no knocks or rattles at any time ant the truck runs cool even in the desert heat. The oil pressure is still great and everything works as it should. The truck breezed through the emissions test with flying colors. It has a new premium stereo system installed for the long drives and the interior is still very presentable aside from a few cracks in the dash pad. The body is remarkably straight. There is a ding on the tailgate and a small bump by the right rear tire. I included some close up pictures of both sides. This could go to Maaco and look like new again easily. There is some snow chain rash by the rear wheels, but it is strictly cosmetic. It just knocked some paint off. I hesitate to put paint on it as people would think there was a bunch of bodywork being hidden. The doors still shut like a vault. This has the sliding rear window. The bed has had rhino liner on it since new and is not dented at all. There is a plywood sheet affixed to the tailgate for our "picnic" table on camping trips. This still has the factory wheels with all of the trim rings and hubcaps in very good condition. It also has the manual front locking hubs for true two wheel drive. This thing sips gas. Sometimes we think the gas gauge is broken because you can drive for hours without it moving. The clutch takes minimal pressure to operate and the power steering makes it drive like a sports car. It really has served us well. This is geared for highway driving. This thing just eats up the road. There is still plenty of tread on the tires, but they are really aged and should be replaced for any long distance trips. They are worn perfectly. The suspension and brakes are all in good condition and as I stated earlier, dependable as Hell. These trucks are really built to last. Most owners have big extended stories to tell about their Rangers. This has towed about anything we could hook up to it and will go up any trail like a mountain goat. I hate to see it go but with age the ability to spend summers up north has diminished. This has been sitting in the storage lot for too long and it is time to let someone else make some memories with it. It is 33 years old. It has to be sold as-is. There is a lot of life left in the old girl. I like it with the patina but this could look like new with minimal effort if you wanted. I'm selling at no reserve with a modest starting price. I need half of the winning bid within five days and the balance paid in ten days. No Nigerian princes, No third party checks from Mexico. No Pay-Pal. The payment must clear my bank before the truck leaves my possession. I have clear open title and recent emission certificate that goes with truck.
