Technology is wonderful. Take, for instance, this remarkable 1937 Ford roadster, whose very body is the product of modern fiberglass techniques rather than ancient steam-powered presses. It's full of state-of-the-art entertainment and comfort systems, making it a thoroughly modern car that merely looks vintage. Pro-built with only 118 shakedown miles on the clock, this '37 is ready to turn heads and collect trophies. The body is by Wild Rod Fiberglass, and fairly accurately captures the styling and... sleek art-deco design of the 1937 Fords. Sure, it's been stretched here, sectioned there, and lowered all around, but there's no denying the Blue Oval DNA running through this car's veins. As a fiberglass piece, the sky's the limit in terms of modifications, so all the trim is gone, the polished grille is smoothly tapered into the fenders, and there are no pesky bumpers or door handles to deal with. Even the running boards are smooth and sleek. Working with fiberglass is easy and the results are spectacular here, with gorgeous Merlot Jewel paint that gives the Ford a high visibility look that's ultra-clean. Finish quality is excellent and thanks to the sturdy construction of the high-quality Wild Rod body, it feels substantial going down the road. Four LED taillights bookend an LED light bar, and the recessed license plate housing and LED tag light all provide a symmetrical look. A matching Merlot removable hardtop gives the sleek roadster a slightly formal look and the tight seal of a coupe. Opulent is the only way to describe the beautifully crafted interior. Basically, you can consider the beautiful, striking bodywork as simply the packaging for what is one of the nicest interiors we've ever seen. Custom leather buckets are artfully stitched and sublimely comfortable, with every surface around them wrapped in pleasing materials and a deep brown saddle color. The custom-built dashboard features a matching leather inlay that contains a center mounted Dakota Digital gauge cluster, flanked on each side by A/C vents operated by the Dakota Digital control panel embedded in the center console. The billet steering wheel is also wrapped in leather, as is the custom rear panel that houses speakers primed and ready to fill the cabin with top-down tunes. The trunk is finished to the same standards, with all the circuitry and other working parts neatly hidden behind hinged panels that are works of art all by themselves. The engine is a 360 cubic inch Chevy V8 (350 with a .060 overbore) that's built for comfort and reliability, as well as great power. There's plenty of shiny billet aluminum and chrome, as well as color-matched inner fenders and smoothed firewall to keep with the car's overall Merlot theme. A big aluminum radiator keeps it cool without effort, and with dual Edelbrock 500CFM carbs and shorty headers feeding the H-pipe dual exhaust system, it's going to be difficult to drive this roadster slow. A Mustang II front end with power rack-and-pinion steering, along with coil overs and power Wilwood disc brakes at every corner means that it rides and handles like a modern car. The heavy-duty 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive transmission spins a 9-inch Ford rear end and means that breakage should be a non-issue. Everything underneath is, of course, color-matched and dialed-in as well, and those staggered Boyd Coddington wheels look spectacular wearing 235/45/17 front and 275/40/18 rear Bridgestone performance radials. Sometimes standing out means simply doing it better than the next guy. Artfully finished and full of innovative features, this '37 Ford delivers in every way that matters. With only break-in miles registered on the build, this roadster will bring its next owner pleasure for many years to come. Call today!
