1979 Ford Ranchero Additional Info:
1979 Ford Ranchero Complete frame off custom build with an acute attention to detail that has resulted in a dependable usable piece of driving art. Assembled by Arizona Classics over a period of a couple of years. This truck shows an amazing level of detail. Each nut and bolt is new (stainless steel) or re conditioned to look new. Unlike most expensive custom builds this truck drives excellent. Utilizing a Fast Fuel injection system, a 4 speed overdrive transmission, and a "built for Arizona" cooling system this Ranchero drives like a modern car. The suspension is set up to handle well but not beat up the occupants. It would be a great Power Tour car. The miles shown are after the built. Total miles are unknown.
Body: Complete frame off repaint starting with a rust free Arizona Ranchero. The pictures of the restoration process are included in the Google Album referenced below. Slight modifications to the body include the filling of the front parking lights, and smoothed fire wall. The parking lights and directional's are now relocated to the custom front grill. The new lighting is now LED. The bumpers have been modified to sit tight again the nose and rear. The bolts on the bumpers have been shaved creating a seamless chrome look. The badging and clearance lights were shaved during the restoration process. All of the stainless and chrome was replaced or refinished. The black paint is smooth, and the body looks amazing. The red pained scallops are hand done, but can easily be removed if someone wanted a complete black truck.
Engine: The motor is a built 351 Windsor backed by a Ford AOD . The 351 was balanced and blue printed, and features Edebrock Aluminum heads. The AOD was rebuilt in 2017, and functions perfectly. The cooling system was built for Arizona's extreme heat. There is a complete single serpentine belt system on the motor. As previously noted the carburetor has been replaced with a Fast Fuel injection. The computer for the system is location in a custom compartment in the interior.
Chassis: The under side of the truck has been painted in a gloss black. The frame has been powder coated with attention to detail features such as nicely off set color grey steering components. The level of detail is excellent. The bolts are stainless or nickle, and show very well. The rear end is a ford 9" with 3:50 gears. The suspension is lowered with Bilstein shocks on all four corners. The wheels are Budnick. The exhaust is heat wrapped as to not heat up the interior of the car.
Interior: The interior is a work of art. Prior to assemble the truck was completely Dynomatted for heat and sound deadening. With a cost of $13,000 the interior was done by Chip Foose's trusted shop, Bill Dunn One Stop Shop in Huntington Beach. The leather was sourced from a factory BMW red. The dash features an engine turned finish. The AC and Heat are supplied by Vintage Air, and work perfectly. There is a custom audio system installed. The wiring on the truck is completely new. The dash was reworked to have a lower height giving the driver an excellent view out of the front window. The shifter and pedals are Locar. The windows were left manual so as to operate smoothly and dependably. They work perfect. All of the window felts and rubber is new. The glass is lightly tinted and is new.
Bed:The bed was finished with the same care as the body. After completion the cherry wood planking was installed. It can be removed if the new owner would like, but it shows fantastic. The tool box was custom cut to fit the bed profile. The aluminum was cut and welded to look factory. There are two small spider cracks on the inside of the tailgate.
