1967 Ford Mustang Pro Street Mustang Fastback Additional Info:
$26,900 BUYS IT! I reserve the right to end this auction at any time since the car is advertised for this price locally. INTERNATIONAL AND OVERSEAS BUYERS WELCOME. PLEASE CALL ME AT (76O) 8O5-803eight WITH ANY QUESTIONS. This is a killer, one of a kind 1967 Pro Street Ford Mustang Fastback. This car is like a Time Warp. If you remember the heydays of the old Car Craft and Hot Rod magazines plastered all over your walls, you will remember what this car is all about. The look, the attitude, and the punch you in the face style was a great time in Hot Rodding. This car was built to be extremely fast with a clean and mean look without losing the original character of the 67 Fastback since it had outstanding lines to start with. This is not a hacked up race car. It still retains all of it's original glass, factory dash and gauges, original seats, door panels, headliner, etc. The car was a local street hero for years in Southern CA. I purchased the car from the second owner who had owned since 1982 and had the car professionally built in the 90s. It was professionally back halved, tubbed, and caged by RJs Race Cars here in San Diego. They are a well known, long established shop here that does outstanding work. The tin work is beautiful. It is a full 12 point roll cage. Ford 9 inch with coil overs.
He said he drag raced the car occasionally around California and the last time out it ran 9.60s with a 250HP shot of nitrous. That was before this engine was rebuilt and more power added, so there may be more in it but the NOS system has since been removed. I have never raced it so I am just going by what he has told me. Mostly what I can tell you is that it is a monster when you want it to be. It was always street driven and registered. It was then carefully put into long term storage and waited for me there until I discovered it. I guess it would be considered a Barn Find if the barn was a temperature controlled garage. It is a lifelong California car. The body is nice. The floors are nice. It is an original C-code V-8 Fastback. The VIN is still on the front apron. The doors shut nicely. All factory glass is still in place. The windows roll up and down fine. The Midnight Blue paint was done when the car was built so it looks nice but it is older. It looks good for a driver and will still draw a gigantic crowd anywhere you take it but it is not perfect by any means. The engine is a built 351 with approximately 600 horsepower. It starts right up, settles into a nasty idle, and sounds amazing. I just had new dual exhaust put on that gives it a killer exhaust note. This is a wicked high winding small block Ford that will scare you when you want it to. I just spent a ton of money with my shop to make sure the car was brought back to life properly. Rebuilt Holley 850 Double Pumper carburetor, new exhaust, new MSD box, new MSD Blaster coil, new fuel pump, new battery, and I am sure a bunch of stuff that I am forgetting.
4 speed manual transmission with vintage Hurst V-gate in-line shifter. The car even still has an old AM/FM cassette to play your AC/DC tapes. The factory seats are in good shape but do have a couple of tiny holes near the top of the upper seats. Grant removable steering wheel. Centerline wheels. Hoosier Quicktime tires in back that should be replaced. They have few miles on them but they are old. Fuel cell and batteries mounted in the trunk. Battery cut off switch in back. Painless Wiring with toggle switch console mounted by the sun visor location. The car is all steel except for the Shelby hood. It is fiberglass and is mounted with factory style hood hinges. You could not come close to building this car for what you can buy this one for today. With Mustang Fastback prices going through the roof and rusty shells selling for crazy money, this one will sell this first time advertised. Please be realistic with what you are buying though. It is not a restored car. It is a Street/Strip car that was initially built almost 30 years ago. Yes, it has paint chips and some minor scratches. Yes, it has imperfections. No, the numbers don't match. No, I would not recommend driving it back to New York in the snow because it has always been your dream trip to drive an old car down Route 66 with your wife. It is a Hot Rod! It is perfect to re-live your glory days on the street or even build your dream Pro Touring or Drag Race Fastback. Clean, clear California title in hand. I already have a 1932 Coupe, a 1966 Mustang GT convertible, a 1968 Camaro, a 1969 Camaro, a 1970 Corvette as you can see in the pictures. I need some room! I am located in Cardiff, CA in North County San Diego. My dog Johnny Cash would not be included in the deal for all of the money in the world.
I can help with transportation either getting it loaded on a truck or assisting you however I can at the buyer's expense. Inspections are encouraged but must be completed before the end of the auction. $1000 non refundable deposit due at auction end and remaining balance due within three working days.
