SUMMARY: This Mustang GT convertible received a comprehensive, professional restoration several years ago. It is in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition throughout. It is ready to be driven, shown, and enjoyed. The car is optioned with the A-code 4bbl 289/225hp V8, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Power Top, Pony Interior, and all GT equipment, including working fog lights that also light up the rear taillights when activated (something most fake GTs will not do). Other highlights include a Nardi wood and stainless steering wheel, chrome 15" Magnum wheels, and painted Red Lemans stripes outlined in black pinstripes. This is a great family fun car that can be driven anywhere with confidence and will only appreciate in value over the years where your other assets may not.
SPECIFICS: It is obvious the car was put on a rotisserie and had any rust cut out and replaced with new sheetmetal. Everything was professionally seam sealed with high quality, spray-in sealer. Even the bottoms of the floors, frame rails, and inside the trunk received paint and extra seam sealer to prevent any future rust issues. It was repainted in its factory original silver frost, with red stripes added. All exterior chrome and trim was replaced or restored. Bullet mirrors were added as well. Interior has been completely redone, and I recently added new matching high-end Mustang logo floor mats. All gauges work, even the original factory Ford AM radio turns on and lights up, but I don't think a speaker was re-installed when restored. The power top works perfectly up and down, all of the windows work, and the new boot just snaps in place. The rear window is clean and clear with no hazing or yellowing. The drivetrain was all rebuilt as well when restored. Disc brakes use a modern dual circuit master cylinder for added safety, and all fuel and brake lines and hoses were recently flushed and/or replaced as needed. The car also has a brand new battery, cable, and solenoid. The engine compartment is highly detailed and very original. The 3 speed automatic shifts firmly in all gears with no weird noises or shifting issues. The shifter bushings could stand to be replaced, as there is a fair bit of play in it. Also the dash pad is new and in nice condition, but does show minor waviness on the bottom side. Tires are in excellent shape and and only a few years old, and all headlights, taillights, horn, and wipers work as they should.
Please note that, like many Mustangs, when the original driver's fender/inner fender was replaced during restoration, it required the VIN be replaced. This was handled professionally by the State of Kansas, through a vigorous inspection process run by the Kansas Highway Patrol. They are just about, if not THE toughest state in the union when it comes to documenting and ensuring a car is what you say it is. They are well known for seizing cars that have even the smallest signs of faked or fraudulent VIN issues. This car passed with flying colors and received their approval and is registered with its own control number with the state of KS. Thus, you can be assured this car is legit. I have pictures of both the VIN plate on the fender and the door ID plate for those interested. I also have a brand new set of chrome 14" Styled Steel Wheels with center caps if the buyer wants them for additional cost.
I can say with confidence this is the nicest GT convertible you'll find for what is being asked. Offers are welcomed, but please realize I have lowered the price considerably for this auction (only) from where it has been listed. If it doesn't sell here, the price returns to where it was. No, it is not a 100% MCA perfect original, as the cost of such would be two times or more what is being asked. But it checks all the boxes as far as great options, colors, and mechanical and cosmetic condition. Everything works, it's easy to drive, and it turns heads everywhere it goes. Again, please call with questions, or to arrange an inspection or purchase.
PAYMENT AND DISCLAIMER (Read this!): Please call before clicking the "Buy" button. Having to relist due to non-paying bidder who hit button within an hour of listing going live. I am a long-time eBay member with perfect feedback and intend to keep it that way. Please have your finances and permissions in order BEFORE placing a bid. This is not a game for either of us. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 3 days of auction end, with the balance to be paid in full within 7 days of auction end. No exceptions. Failure to abide by these terms may result in forfeiture of deposit, and vehicle being offered to another bidder. Cash, bank wire, or certified check is acceptable (pending verification), and all funds must be received prior to taking delivery of the car. I can help with any shipping arrangements, including getting you a reasonable quote, but buyer is responsible for all shipping and insurance costs. This car is over 50 yrs old, so it is being sold "as is, where is," with no warranty of any kind. Please expect normal signs of usage, such as minor chips and other indications of wear. I've tried to convey everything I can about the car, but it is possible I may miss things now and then. I, nor the car, have anything to hide, thus we highly encourage personal inspections prior to purchase. I will make the car available for the duration of the auction during normal business hours. I reserve the right to end this auction early due to prior sale or other reasons. If you have questions, CALL AND ASK. This will make things go more smoothly for both of us.
