You would think the harsh winters of Manitoba, Canada would have left this 1952 Ford F3 a rusty mess, but somehow this one managed to survive extremely well. As a matter of fact, it actually gave this truck some amazing patina. There are only a few minor rust spots, but all the important areas like the floor, cab corners, and doors are very solid! Clearly, this truck was well cared for over the years.
So, I found this truck in Saint Andrews, Manitoba where it was part of an estate that was being liquidated. It was supposedly still being used as late as 2004, but was parked around that time and didn't move again until I bought it. After hauling it to my home in Billings, Montana, I replaced the belts, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and fuel pump to get the Flathead V8 up and running. The four on the floor works and shifts through all the gears. It runs great and drives, but it's still a project that is going to need a little work before it will be ready for driving on the road.
I have also installed a new set of hub caps, had the seat re upholstered (it came out fantastic!)and cleaned up the paint quite a bit. The flatbed has some pieces of rotted wood that could use replacing, but it has a great look to it as is and would get the job done as a driver. It's a dumping bed, so you could put it back to work with some new wood though. You'll also want to replace the tires before loading it down though, as they are showing their age with some cracking.
This truck sure would make for a great project. You could start enjoying it as is and it would only take a little more work to make it an eye-catching driver. And it's solid enough that it would be a good restoration candidate if that's the route you'd like to take it. The only rust I've been able to find has been on the running boards and a spot where the driver's side fender meets the running board. They are bolt on items though, so they could be repaired or replaced with relative ease. The brakes on the truck will need some attention.
The odometer reads just 74k miles and while it could be accurate, I can't verify that it is, so I'm selling it as is with exact mileage unknown. If you have any questions or would like additional photos, please message me.
And, I can help arrange worldwide shipping. I work with many good transporters and all major ports. I have transport companies that will charge .85 cents per mile plus tolls anywhere in the lower 48.
