1990 Ford Mustang GT Convertible Additional Info:
This is quite possibly the rarest Foxbody Mustang currently on eBay, it is 100% unmolested (bone stock) and Im the second owner. The car has an incredible history, it took me almost 10yrs to find this amazing Mustang and now we are (unexpectedly) expecting our 4th daughter and unfortunately the Mustang needs to be sold. So lets get to it...
History
I bought this car from the original owning family, the car was originally sold here at Bay Ford in Panama City, Florida in 1994. The owner of Bay Ford kept the car as his driver and it was never titled, The car was taken to auction but was not sold at auction. It was sold as a new demo to the original owner in 1994 at the Ford Dealership. The original owner was an avid Mustang collector and had several in his collection, some really really good ones too. The original owner heard this car was being offered for sale and brought his family here to Panama City Beach for vacation and to purchase the car.
He purchased the car from Bay Ford and drove it home to Northern Tennessee, right on the Kentucky border. The car spent a majority of its life in a climate controlled, museum like garage with the rest of the Mustang collection. It was a fair weather car, never exposed to any potential bad weather, salty roads, or negative driving condition.
The original owner had a daughter and upon his passing the car was left to the daughter, so the car was retitled and remained in the collection. Upon the passing of the mother the collection began to be sold, the daughter used the Mustang to secure a loan and once again the Mustang was retitled, but all in the same family. The daughter arrived at a point where the car reminded her too much of her father, she also had a growing family and with the rest of the collection being sold she decided to sell it and thats when I bought it.
I had been actively looking for about a decade for one to fulfill my midlife crisis and build my high school hot rod again. I came across the car through some friends of the family and once I purchased it I began ordering parts, Saleen Rear Wing, Ford Motorsport lowering springs, the 5 lug conversion all while waiting for the car to be shipped to me. Upon the arrival of the Mustang, I just couldn't do it. The Mustang was too perfect to do what I wanted to do with it, so I left it alone. I didn't want to be the one to devalue such a rare find with a perfect history, however I didn't anticipate another daughter at 44yrs old..... So here we are, Mustang for sale.
Vehicle Condition
I would consider this car to be in "Excellent or Well Above Average" condition considering its a 29 year old car. I honestly haven't seen any 29 year old vehicle this nice, ever.
The Exterior
The paint is in excellent condition and shines like new, its painfully obvious the car has been stored inside its entire life. There are a couple minor flaws, however nothing serious or cause for concern. The drivers side lower valance has some paint cracks from pulling too close to a parking block or something similar. There is also a very very small ding on the drivers fender close to where the fender meets the door about 3/4 of the way up the door, just below the side mirror level. I doubt you can spot it in the pics but its there, hard to see in person. Overall the exterior shows amazing and the pictures really do it no justice.
The Interior
The triple black interior is literally flawless and looks like no one has ever sat in the car. The interior has something I have NEVER seen in any fox body Mustang, a working cigarette lighter door! The carpets are clean and the leather is perfect and shows like new.
Mechanically
The Mustang is mechanically solid and I wouldn't hesitate to drive it cross country tomorrow if I needed to go. The factory R-12 Air Conditioner even works, its not super super cold but there is no leaks in the system and enough R-12 in there to turn on an off the a/c compressor. The automatic transmission shifts perfectly with no issues and everything functions as it should. The 16" Pony Wheels were apart of the dealer add on's and the wheels and tires are in excellent condition, tires are near new.
The Convertible Top
This is the 2nd top the car has ever had and is in excellent condition with several years of life left in it. It has the glass back window and operates and functions as it should.
Payment
Payment in full is due within 3 days of the close of the sale. I will accept bank to bank wire transfers, verifiable cashiers checks only and will hold the car until all funds clear. My preferred route of payment is bank to bank wire transfer. I have clear title in hand, in my name ready to transfer to new owner once the financials are taken care of. If you need to have the car transported to you, I know a guy but transportation is at the buyers expense.
I'm open to all reasonable cash offers, but I also am very aware of what this is worth...because I paid for it when I bought it. This is a RARE FIND! DO NOT LET THIS GET AWAY!
