1946 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible AUTOMATIC!
Our seller, now in his mid ‘80’s, has owned this 1946 Super Deluxe Convertible for over 25 years. We are selling his collection for him now in an effort to allow a bit more manageable lifestyle for him. The last two vehicles remaining are this Convertible and his 1946 “old school Performance Modified” Pickup Truck. This Pheasant Red Convertible is his “go to” favorite for cruise events and the local shows. He says it’s dependable and easy to drive with the 1953 Mercury Automatic transmission coupled to the Flathead V8. He’s says there’s plenty of power there too! Here are some point of interest he shared with us.

Just some brief “fun facts” about the ‘46 Ford:
The 1946 Ford went into production in June 1945. New for 1946 was the horizontal grille and widened hood. New from Ford for '46 was the 239 cid V-8 producing 100 hp. Before World War II that engine was offered in Mercurys. A 225 cid straight 6 was also available. Two trim levels offered were Deluxe and Super Deluxe. Base 6-cylinder cars were priced around $1,100. The convertible had a base price of $1,400. Ford made 468,000 cars for the 1946 model year. Of those, 16,300 were convertibles. They made 720 wood paneled Sportsman Convertibles. The only transmission available was a 3-speed column shift manual.*
