1980 Ford F-250 Ranger Additional Info:
Beast of a truck. Runs well but noisy. Brakes fine. Hub lock 4x4 with a big 8. Starts up well. Battery is pretty new and strong. So are spark plugs and some other mechanical work done too. Tires are large around 29” and the truck was lifted by a prior owner. Pretty soft suspension too. Prior owner used it for dump runs and hauling for renovation projects and i use it for the same. I don’t let it sit for more than a week without running it.
The cons: (to the best of my knowledge)Plenty of rust throughout body including some holes and patches. Small roof leak at rear view mirror. Nothing that gets the seats wet. Seats are in decent shapeThere’s a small hole in the driver’s side floor and the exhaust leaks a bit and makes the engine noisy. The prior owner didn’t fix it and I don’t use it enough to much care since I typically don’t drive it far. It definitely lets everybody know you’re there. Odometer / speedometer is broken and unrepairable because the mechanism was damaged at the transmission end, or so I was told by the prior owner about 8-12 mos ago. Use phone app to track speed.I have not had it inspected this is just info I was told. The doors require a bit of lift to latch and are not well aligned. The canopy is missing one sliding pane and the back of it has broken lifting springs so I use a stick to hold the canopy door up. The tailgate is hard to latch but it does latch.Hood is about the same. Use a wrench to push the safety release to pop it.blinkers and brake lights and lights work.Custom cd radio installed but there is a big hole in the dash and I don’t even know why. It’s an old beater.
