Vintage Motorcars is proud to present this 1935 Ford 5-Window Coupe.
The year 1935 marked a thorough overhaul of the Ford lineup. The old flathead inline-4 engine was dropped from production, leaving the popular 221 CI flathead V-8 the only powerplant offered from Dearborn across its entire line of cars and trucks. Designed by Phil Wright, whose previous credits included the Pierce Silver Arrow, the new Ford had a more modern appearance than its traditional predecessors, with wider, more rounded fenders, a forward-mounted radiator and more integrated main body styling.
This classic Ford received a very high-quality restoration approximately 9 years ago and has stood up to the test of time extremely well. The car makes an absolutely striking first impression and continues to impress upon further inspection with its attention to detail and quality.
The lustrous Coach Maroon paint was professionally laid over its ultra-straight Henry Ford steel body and fender panels. The exterior will impress the purists with its correct dual outside mirrors, bumper guards, front grill guard, dual horns and contrasting red wire wheels wearing bright trim rings and hub caps. The car is properly finished behind the rumble seat with a correct rear-mounted spare tire.
The interior is authentically restored to proper specifications and finishes, using period correct Grey mohair upholstery for the seat cover and inner door trim panels. The dashboard is correctly repainted in Maroon and features a banjo-style steering wheel that looks brand new; a restored instrument panel with Beige-faced bar-style gauges, speedometer and matching switchgear. A rare clock mirror, cabin heater and factory radio complete the well-appointed cabin which also features a tilt-out windshield and roll-down rear window with shade.
The engine compartment is refinished to proper 1935 standards. The 221/85 HP flathead V-8 features the correct Grey engine paint and such authentic details as the generator, single-barrel downdraft carburetor and oil bath air cleaner. The engine is mated to a correct 3-speed manual transmission.
This well-equipped 5 Window coupe has a wealth of features to add to the fun of enjoying a great vintage Ford. If you are remotely in the market for a car of this stature... do not hesitate! This car looks better in person that in photos, and will not last long.
