1929 Ford Model A Additional Info:
Here is an all original 1929 Ford Model A Deluxe 4-Door Sedan, Leatherback with Rear Window, 82,008 original miles, in good running condition. Has original top and original interior, nothing missing, complete original car. I purchased this car about 6 months ago at an estate sale, the previous owner licensed it from 1984-1993, he parked it in his corn crib in 1993 running and that is where I found it 25 years later. Motor was free and oil looked good, here's what I did to get it running. New battery, rebuilt new distributor, cap, rotor, plugs, all new wiring, foot starter switch, used Tillotson carb I had, and new ignition switch. I also replaced the exhaust and intake manifold with a used pair, intake was cracked. Immediately had great spark and as soon as I got it timed, fired right off and ran. Did not run long, the exhaust is unhooked, the tip of the exhaust that hooks to the manifold is bad will need replaced. Here's what needs done, the gas tank is not fully cleaned yet, had bad gas in it for 25 years. I syphoned most out, I removed the gas lines and the fuel filter needs replaced also. The brass spigot on the bottom of the tank is loose and ready to remove. I started it by hanging a motorcycle tank above the motor, you will need to finish cleaning the gas tank. Has original top and interior and will need replaced. Had a small hole in the top and I enlarged it all to inspect, needs 2-3 top wood rails, but all other wood on the car is good, interior headliner is falling down also. Top needs replaced and new interior, all seat frames etc are there, amazingly complete, even the original rear light cover is there. Doors all work and close tight. Not a rust hole anywhere in the floor boards or anywhere on the car, almost unbelievable. Really no rust holes anywhere and does not look like a drop of putty anywhere all solid metal. Transmission shifts nicely and works, rolls great, all 5 tires hold air. Truly an amazing barn find, just needs a little tlc now. Lights, horn, tail light, license plate holder, rear tire carrier, it is all there, nothing missing. When is the last time you found a project of this age and don't have to look for any parts, never. I wanted to keep this one, but have many others and my daughter is in her last semester of college and I need the cash. Local pick-up and we are in Longmont, Colorado. I will help load if you decide to have it transported. Any questions, please ask, I can send any photos also.
