BRIEF HISTORY OF THE VEHICLE:VIN: F10CK493660
Here is a nice solid truck that is noticed whenever it’s driven.
Southern Oklahoma Truck. I’m the second owner and have owned this pickup since January of 1971. I have kept it garaged and out of the weather. Relocated to South Carolina in 1993. Used the truck to trailer 2 horses back there. After a valve job in 1996, we trailered the 2 horses back from Columbia, S.C. to Oklahoma City, Okla. We unloaded the horses and then drove the truck to California and back for a nice vacation trip. It did very well. In 1999, I started “Dolling it up”. I installed an RV cam, had the Transmission & O.D. rebuilt by Blumenthals in Oklahoma City, installed Red’s Headers, and converted to Electronic Ignition. Tory’s in Harrah, Okla put a great paint job (The Color is Code T: Navajo Beige) on it and then Clear Coated it. All the chrome is new and spectacular. (The Grill and Headlight Frames were chromed by Ramos in Oklahoma City). The aluminum side trim was refurbished and Clear powder-coated. It has a heavy-duty rear bumper that is White Powder-Coated with switched lights for backing-up or connecting trailers at night.
I started painting on the interior and then I bought some land and a 1958 Massey Ferguson tractor and gave the truck less attention. The interior is clean, basic, and very usable. The seats are in great shape physically and have new saddle blanket covers over them. The pickup has only been driven 2,900 miles since 2002.
I have a lot of maintenance notes/receipts since 1971 and good shop manuals (which are included in this sale). I have never used gas with any ethanol in the truck.
Now, for the "Rest of the Story":
The following ADDITIONAL parts are included with the pickup:
One pair of Ford door storage compartments with trim pieces.
12 Stainless wheel covers.
3 O.D. governors and 2 O.D. solenoids.
Complete Instrument cluster
Two 2 barrel Carburetors: a Ford and a Holley
Working Radio
Original Oil Bath Air Cleaner,
Original Valve Covers, (Powder coated blue)
Original Exhaust manifolds (this 292 originally used a crossover pipe) for single exhaust.
One pair of original aluminum head light frames and pair of powder coated headlight buckets.
Misc Trim pieces
I have not made any modifications that involved cutting on the body. Nothing has been permanently modified on this truck; just parts change-outs and/or bolt-ons including non-traditional items such as those used in "chroming up" the motor or improving appearance, reliability, and performance.
It is a mechanically sound vehicle and I would not hesitate to drive it on a major road trip.
INTERIOR: I installed a Manifold Vacuum gauge and an Oil Pressure gauge in the instrument cluster. The steering wheel is from a 1963 Ford truck that was better than the original one. It doesn’t set low enough for the horn brush to make contact so the horn won’t honk from the steering wheel. The circuit works and will operate a pair of loud electric truck horns. It still has the original Cardboard headliner. The seats are in fine shape mechanically/physically and are covered with a new set of slip- over saddle blanket seat covers. Both doors have large plastic storage compartments with leatherette flaps.
EXTERIOR : I had the truck painted in 2000 (Including under the hood). It is the original color called Navajo Beige. I had it clear coated. Very glossy with no touched up areas. The paint job is spectacular. The body is straight. No body repairs needed. The exterior aluminum trim is has been touched up with red paint and then clear powder coated. The windshield was replaced and is tinted. The body is very straight and shiny with no dents, chips or rust bumps under the paint.
DRIVE TRAIN: Changed out the original motor block in 1980 with a hand-picked short block (my Dad was a mechanic and knew the rebuilder). The Overdrive unit was updated to a T85N in 1994. The engine and drive train was upgraded/rebuilt 2002.

SUMMARY: Overall, a clean and classy vehicle that is a hoot to drive. When we bought a farm in 2002, this fine truck became less of a priority to me. Now, it’s taking up a valuable spot in my shop since I bought a 1958 Massey Ferguson tractor and want to park it there instead.. In my judgment, this truck is mechanically sound. With its new tires, upgraded AC, and new carb kit, it is ready to use. Buyer might consider flying to Oklahoma City and driving the pickup home after checking belts, hoses, wiper blades, etc. due to their age (not their usage) Please check my E-Bay ratings. My seller ratings include the sale of a 1964 ½ Mustang convertible. If you need additional information, call or text me (Ron) at 405-488-4865. Thanks and good luck! | |
