1932 Ford Other Additional Info:
1932 ford phaeton, built in the late 70's by Bob Roubal from Downey Ca, and featured as the cover car of January 1980 street rodder magazine. original steel body/fenders/hood/grille all in excellent shape, never had any rust or patch panels, lacquer paint is 40+ years old and still shines great but does have the normal wear and lacquer check that should be expected, fenders are some of the nicest I've ever seen, no cracked beads, cowl vent is functional, dash is uncut but has later gauges installed, unchopped windshield/stanchions. Interior and top are in great shape for their age, no tears, top folds as it should. original frame that still retains the original front and rear crossmembers, front end is original heavy 32 axle dropped and filled by Bell Auto Parts, hairpins, disc brakes. rear end is 57ish chevy mounted on 1/4 elliptical springs, steering was updated later to a flaming river vega style box. engine is an early 283 with power pack heads, turbo 400 trans. This car is a "barn (garage) find" of sorts as it has only about 1,000 miles in the last 40 years, and has been sitting for the last 10+ tucked away in a garage (on non op). I got it running and driving but there's some updating that should be done, tires are old, engine runs ok but seems a little down on power, seems to get better every time its driven so may just be a sticky valve? as its very low miles, the top is a little saggy, material is still in great shape, not brittle, but should have the hidem strip at the front removed and pulled tight/ re-stapled. overall it's in exceptional condition for its age, last picture is a quickie little photo shop of some wheel/tire ideas to show how simple it'd be to back date this car to a 50's / 60's look as most of the mechanical parts are from that era.
car is located in Escondido ca, send me a message if you'd like to come see it in person before bidding, pickup/ shipping is up to the buyer but I can get it up to the grand national roadster show or Turlock swap or the port in long beach for international buyers for $200. no transport until car is paid in full
