If nothing else, his 1927 Ford Model T roadster is a clever bit of engineering. With a traditional chassis, Chevy V8, nd a look that recalls the long, leek roadsters of the '30s, t's a rod that's a cut above the usual stuff. That distinctive "turtle deck" styling is 100% Model T roadster, nd it is one of the simplest, et most elegant shapes ever created. It also looks great surrounded with curvaceous fenders and fronted by an extra-long hood that gives the humble Model T a very sleek look. There's virtually no panel on this entire car that hasn't been customized or hand-fabricated to achieve a look, ut the Ford DNA is undeniable in the final result. The long 1-piece hood starts at a highly modified '32 Ford grille shell with a stainless insert that gives it a very updated look. The fenders look like late Model T pieces, gain modified to work with the longer front end, nd with everything swathed in brilliant Lamborghini Orange paint with a ton of pearl in it, here's no denying that there was someone with a very clear mission at work here. Workmanship is impressive, o if you like the look, here's plenty to love about the build: the beautifully molded cowl that seamlessly blends the hood and the bodywork, he V-shaped windshield, nd the fabricated rear bumper that looks like the push bars old Bonneville racers used to use.The interior is quite a bit more user-friendly that the usual Model T, ith a wide bench seat that's comfortable and has plenty of room for two. Everything is wrapped in black alligator skin and orange leather, ncluding the custom door panels, nd it's carpeted to control noise and heat, oth of which are critical in a roadster like this. A custom aluminum steering wheel lives on top of a polished tilt column, o it's easy to get comfortable in the driver's seat, nd a full complement of white-faced Equus instruments offers a great view of what's going on up front. A mini console was fabricated for the custom shifter, hich, n the low-slung roadster, alls easily to hand. In back, he trunk is fully upholstered in black carpet with a matching alligator skin insert on the deck lit itself. There's also a sizeable fuel cell, aking this roadster a fantastic cruiser for longer drives. The engine is a rugged and reliable 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 that's been recently rebuilt and neatly dressed for show duty under the long hood of this T. Lots of chrome and polished aluminum glitter when you pop the 3-piece hood, nd with a new Edelbrock 4-barrel carb, Holley intake manifold, nd a throaty dual exhaust system, t certainly drives like a hot rod. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission powers a 9-inch Ford rear end, hich hangs on ladder bars and coil-overs. A dropped I-beam front suspension, omplete with transverse leaf spring, ives it that vintage hot rod feel and there's a disc brake at each front corner. A set of flashy aluminum Torque Thrust wheels offers the traditional "big-n-little" combination with Goodyear radials up front and giant Pro-Trac donuts in back. Not quite a T-bucket, ot quite a track T, nd not quite a Model A or Deuce roadster, his is a wild combination with the right look and the right parts to simply be a ton of fun.
