1979 Ford F-350 Ranger Additional Info:
This is a good looking, nice driving truck with some serious heavy-duty capabilities. Whether you need those capabilities on a daily basis, or like knowing that they're there just in case you do, this truck is ready to rock. If you are going to use it for a business, it will project a clean, strong impression. If you will be towing toys with it, then rest assured, it can pull some very big toys. Last of this generation body style, this truck really looks sharp. All the stainless steel and chrome has been replaced or polished up and shines brightly, and it all starts up front with the grill. A restyle for the last two years of the model run changed the split grill to a larger single piece. Ford in script was moved up to the front edge of the hood and the rectangular headlights were moved outside of the grill itself. That is underlined by a simple bumper that has rubber fronted push guards mounted. Chrome trims out the fender wells along with the rocker panel, and there is a line of it running down the body from end to end. Chrome diamond plate dresses out the bed rails and thin piping surrounds Ford in red on the tailgate. Open that tailgate and you will find a bed that isn't afraid of work. Fill'er up and git-r-done. Open the door and you will find a nicely refurbished Red interior that is a great place to cruise, or a nice office to operate out of. The door panel has a long armrest with a patterned upper panel trimmed in chrome piping. A nice assist step makes it easy to climb up inside and settle in to the comfortable bench seat that is trimmed in colorful cloth trimmed in red vinyl. A two spoke steering wheel has wood grain trim as does the dash board behind it. The chrome piping surrounding the gauges on the dash is as clean as the chrome on the outside of the truck. Air conditioning that has been upgraded to R134 will keep you cool on those hot summer days, and there is an AM/FM stereo that is Bluetooth and iPod compatible for your listening pleasure. The shifter for the automatic transmission is on the column and for the 4WD transfer case is on the floor. A fresh headliner and new carpeting finish out this interior nicely. Open the hood and you will find a tried and true, torquey and reliable, 351M engine that is ready for whatever kind of heavy duty work you ask it to do whether that means every day, or every once in a while. Its ready. It is neat and clean and stock with signs of good regular maintenance in the newer belts, hoses and wires. There is an aluminum air topper sitting on a 2-barrel carb that is perfect for generating low end torque. Power flows back through a three-speed automatic transmission and the transfer case to heavy duty differentials with 3.54 gears multiplying the power of the engine. As a 1-ton truck, you can be confident that the axles as well as all the other components of the drive train and chassis can handle the job as you pull that heavy load. The chassis received its proper share of good maintenance too with new bushings and shocks keeping everything moving and working like it should. The rubber meets the road through 235/85R16 tires mounted on good looking Pacer wheels. Business or pleasure. This truck is good looking, comfortable, capable, and ready to rock. Come on down and see for yourself.
