1968 Ford Mustang Additional Info:
This is a great vehicle that has been in my family for years. It sits in a garage all year and runs well.
Much of the restoration work is already complete. This includes all of the internal upholstery, carpeting, radio, steering wheel, and trim. Externally, the original paint has been removed and replaced, most of the chrome moldings have been replaced, and the wheel covers are new. The engine, wheels, and exhaust are all original. We installed a center console between the driver and passenger seats that adds a bit of modern car comfort. Many smaller items (handles, lights, cables, emblems, etc.) have also been replaced or reconditioned. Also, a CD changer was installed in the trunk and new speakers in the rear and under the dash, but the mounting was not completed and the electrical system never run to complete the installation.
It isn't in perfect showroom condition. Though it has been kept out of the elements it is rarely driven and sits for six months or more at a time. The engine runs well, but it could probably use a thorough cleaning and tune-up from someone with the know how. The odometer reads around 30,000 but back when cars like this were made they only went to 99,999 so I have to assume it is actually 130,000. I don't know of any way to find out for certain. Also, the instrument panel doesn't function properly (The speedometer works, but the needle bounces and isn't very accurate). Finally, as it is almost winter and it will probably be useful to know, the heater doesn't work. Seeing as it is the original it most likely just needs the core replaced.
It was appraised by Hagerty classic car insurance for $16,000, and with the amount of work that's been put into this vehicle I believe that is an accurate assessment.
If there are any questions please contact me. I'll be glad to help however I can.
This would be a great vehicle for anyone interested in classic cars, looking for something to fine tune, or wanting to work on the finer details of a Mustang.
