1934 Ford Other Additional Info:
Up for auction is this beautiful older restored 1934 ford 5 window coupe. This car was restored some time in the early 90s. The previous owner just recently went through the car and freshened up the cosmetics and went completely through the drivetrain spending close to 25k on it. This 34 ford does show very slight wear bc it was driven and shown. So it does have some chips here and there. With that being said, if you are looking for a very nice car that you can DRIVE and not have to put in a enclosed trailer please read on!!
For starters this car is painted original deep Dearborn blue with original triple cream pinstripe around the car. Wheels are painted cream as well. The chrome grill and bumpers were recently redone and are beautiful. Brand new vulcanized runningboards were also recently installed. The headlights and tail lights were also converted to halogen in front and LED in back. The body and fenders on the car are very straight and nice.
Next is the interior which was redone in original mohair with a lebarron Bonney kit. The seat is very comfortable!!! The dash and garnish moldings are all wood grained like original. ( There is some spiderwebbing appearing in the laquer on dash) The gauges were all recently restoredby a very reputable shop and are beautiful and work great!!!
The next very exciting thing to list about is the drivetrain. From the front to the back we will start with a brand new radiator. From there we have a original 34 ford flathead engine recently completely rebuilt by H&H flatheads out of California. Almost 10k was spent on the rebuild!! Details include insert bearings, 4 in mercury crankshaft, 3/4 camshaft, h beam rods, new hiflow water pumps, fully balanced, hardened valve seats with stainless valves, new $1300.00 Kearney heads, electronic crab type distributor, 12v generator, Max Musgrove rebuilt stromberg 97 carb and the list goes on an on. The engine runs very strong and smooth to say the least.
As for the transmission, it is a 39 ford toploader completely rebuilt by Van Pelt sales and shifts beautifully and is nice and tight. The clutch and pressure were also replaced when the engine was out.The next special thing is the rear end. The rear axle is a highly sought after Columbia 2 speed which was completely built by John Connelly out of Arizona. The rear end shifts beautifuly and the overdrive is fantastic for highway use.
Other key things are the car has been completely rewired and converted to a 12v system. Heat and sound matting were also installed in the car to reduce road noise and floor board heat.
I have had many many early fords over the years and this car is definitely one of the best looking and best driving!! It starts with ease, runs cool, and drives fantastic!!! Please don't hesitate to call with additional questions you may have. (919) 480-7933 Mike.
I have a very reasonable reserve set on the car. I hold the right to end auction early bc it is listed locally as well.
