1979 Ford E-Series Van Gulf Oil / STP RaceVan 4SpeedOnTheFloor No Rust Additional Info:
Thanks for checking out the Gulf Oil (or STP) livery ford shorty. This is a 7 day NO RESERVE auction.
I have owned this van for about 6 or 7 years now. I put the flare set and visor on (from custom van wizard Kurk Collis at customvan.com ).
Unfortunatly it is not a "race van" with a 460/C6 as I had at one time planned it to be. And it is a good van that should take ya anywhere ya want to go with a very low cost maintance.
Everything on this is availalbe and is cheap making owning the van super easy to own/maintain.
It has never failed to start in the years I have owned it.
The 4speed on the floor is epic. It is the 300 cubic inch 6 cylinder...loved as one of the greatest long lasting zero maintance motors Ford ever produced and still sited as a drawback for this van. You can always keep the...i will put a v8 in it when the 6 dies...but you might die first ha. I planned on plucking it for a v8 as soon as I found time and ....time. The van is a overdrive 4 speed. Personally the 6 cylinder torque and shifting ranges is great. It can easily tow a couple thousand lbs plus. The manual trans/engine brake control on the mountain roads is excellent. The van has always been in Airizona. it has never had any rust. The blue is all the original paint. There has been no body work done under the orange. This was only done about 3 years ago. less than 100 miles since.I have a lot of photos of the van documnenting it's condition from the time i bought it, owned it, put flares on it, visor, painted it in stages. About 100 photos can be found on facebook page "e100 ford gulf oil van". If you search that in google it will also pop up. It is mechanically original Ford. No modifications besides color, flares and wheels/tires. It starts and runs and drives reliably.
Here in this auction the van is listed with the black Bart Racing "SpeedWay" 15x10 and 15x8 with Cooper Cobra 255/70 and 245/60. I prefer the 255/70 over the 275 or 295 because they do not change the ratio of the final drive and the ride is 10X nicer with the 255/70. On that subject, the OverDrive if you decide to change to 295/60, it is a good drivetrain to do it with. It really isnt a big deal as many of you know.
I can also offer the van up with a set of custom wheels - slots - turbines. This will be at a quite substantial amount more than the listed price. The cost of DVW is enough to make many sets (that would fit this van appropiatly somewhat exclusive. I do have the turbines shown immeadiately available or i can put together a set of slots for it in 15x8.5/10 at substantial addtional cost. The van is about ready to drive cross country - jump in and go conditon the way it sits. It has has a recent tune up, new rad hoses, filters. The tires are new. the shocks are new. I have no problem with driving it any distance and to prove it if winning bidder is willing to pay for the gas, quality hotel costs, and my plan ticket home (no i am not taking a bus or train - i fly delta comfort class onlly also... so no chickbox airlines haha) I'd be willing to take this one on my last journey with it to your place anywhere in the continental USA and deliver it in person. This would require payment in full in advance and milage based on 15mpg before I hit the road. I am willing to do that baaaaht likely having it shipped will cost less than my offer and the new owner might not want crazy me driving it cross country.
You are welcome to fly in and road trip it home just the same. I cannot, of course, gaurentee or provide warranty for the 40 year old van, but it has always been kept up and in daily driver contion. Issues at this point is the radio doesnt work it works sometimes - which to me means it doesnt work. I have a bluetooth speaker i use in it when I use it. I have not purchased the window felt strips and the windows rattle a little up front. Thats about all i can think of at the moment. I used to the van to move some of my stuff and did not have an issue with it. made several short trips heating the van up to temp and letting it cool.
Other new parts - pop-out window seals, new front driver/passenger/side/rear door seals NIB, Rear SkyJacker air shocks, front HD Monroe, new carpet and pad from a local place in AZ, - navy blue short pile automotive carpet - proper.
Payment I will accept will be cash in person (prefered), bank wire transfer, paypal no fee payment (if you have paypal credit no interest). I will not accept any physical checks such as money orders or personal check or bank checks. $500 deposit is appreciated within 24 hours to show your seriouis.
I have almost repainted it all back to robins egg a few times now....and no more orange gulf oil or STP livery and attention...baaaaht i have not done it yet. I go back and forth. I think many find it gaudy wile others things its awesomefind it great. I
like the widows. it makes it great to drive and see everything. There are no back seats. just the front seats.
If you bid and then retract your bid, I will block you from further bidding. Doing this causes doubt in potential bidders with regards to the validity of the auction. Bid to win. If the winning bidder does not follow through I will probably just have to relist it. I want this to be a successfull auction.
Thelisting it as a "no reserve" auction. The latest photo taken last week are the first 7 or 8 photo, the rest have been taken over the last year. I currently just put it in storage until it is picked up. You can take up to 3 weeks to pick it up/shipped as long as ya pay deposit and pay for it within a week in ful.
Hope all this helps.
International Bidders Welcome.
