A Beautiful two owner 87k original documented miles, numbers matching 302 ci V8 1973 Ford Mustang Convertible! All original factory Ford OEM Black Deluxe interior, original full console, OEM dash pad, factory steering wheel and gorgeous like new vinyl upholstery with original Ford Comfort-weave vinyl inserts (no repro parts here).
This 1973 Mustang rolled off the Dearborn assembly line mid-September 1972 and was sold by the Lucas Ford Dealership in Burlington, New Jersey. The original factory Eminger Invoice, Marti Report, along with the very legible original build sheet go with the car and document its authenticity. Garage kept all its life, I purchased it with 83,327 actual documented miles from the original owner back in 1994, the car underwent a minor restoration and has only accumulated about 3,700 miles since the purchase! The restoration was essentially a paint job, refresh of the engine bay, some interior components, and replacement of the trunk floor and tail panel sheet metal. While it left the factory in Ford factory 2B Red paint, it was repainted Ford 6F Gold Glow Metalic also a factory color available in 1973. Check out the picture of the like new original floor pans taken when I replaced the carpet (still in their original red paint, factory sealer, and masking tape). The body on this car is in excellent rust free condition. All the chrome and stainless is like new: no dings, dents or blemishes. Roof in excellentcondition. Runs great. Original factory features include Power Steering, Power Front Disc Brakes, Power top, Tinted Glass, Trim Rings with Dish Wheels, AM Radio. Added is an AM/FM with dash and door speakers with correct door speaker grills, dual exhaust rear valance with correct chrome exhausttips, front spoiler, side stripes, and NASA style hood with black Tu-tone paint.
Open the hood to reveal the numbers-matching 302 CID V8 engine as well as correct belts, hoses, starter solenoid, voltage regulator, yellow top coil, air cleaner, and factory decals! The original Motorcraft 2100 two-barrel carburetor was rebuilt six years ago by Pony Carburetors and operates better than it did new! Take note of the authentic touches including paint marks, shock tower braces, headlight buckets, and hood latch brackets that are painted factory Slop Gray. Even the hood latch and hinges are correct in their appearance! Head on over to the trunk space and you will find the correct splatter paint, the correct scissor jack and lug wrench, full-size spare tire and mounting hardware! This car even has the original convertible top boot cover with its original boot bag!
Hop on inside to check out the correct date coded seat belts, a clean Ford original dash pad, factory steering wheel and gorgeous vinyl upholstery with original Ford Comfort-Weave vinyl inserts. Rest your hand on the sporty shifter that operates the three-speed Cruise-O-Matic C4 transmission. This car is mechanically sound and performs just as it looks, terrific! Just look at the photos and you will see a lot of work went into this car. If you are looking for a solid original driver to take out on sunny days and to the local car show, then this car is for you! A survivor that will surely continue to increase in value as the year's pass. Very few of these 45-year-old cars are running around in this condition! There no need to do anything else as it all been done for you!
Sold in the As Is Condition. That said,I have no problem accommodating an independent mechanical inspection should the buyer wish to have one done at their cost before pickup. The car is mechanically sound.
