1970 Ford F-100 Additional Info:

This truck deserves to be used and/or restored. My wife and I had a couple kids and I'm way too busy to do it. I've owned it for about 10 years now. It was work my truck for a time in Southern California. Prior to that it had the original Ford camper on the back (hence no tailgate) for 40 years or so up in Oregon where it was garaged and aside from being started once or twice a month, was only taken camping once or twice a year. Thus the super low mileage.
PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE LISTING BEFORE ASKING ME QUESTIONS - THANKS!
Technical stuff: It's the twin I-beam front end design with one of the first years they had the 360, which is in my opinion, one of the best engines Ford has ever made. It runs like a top, very strong. Like all old trucks it's hard to start in the cold. I pulled a very heavy airstream across the country with it and it handled it pretty well. I added helper leaf springs in the back which firmed up the suspension in the rear. I also added the towing hitch and triple chrome bumper on the back. Other improvements include an upgraded starter and electronic points. An electric radiator fan so I could remove the motor mounted fan. (Huge amount of horse power reclaimed by doing that.) Oddly enough it has one of the most simple but best sounding Kenwood stereo systems as well. I seriously considered not including it but it's a pain to pull it and someone should enjoy it. I'll probably include the towing assist as well since it's wired in. Really helps with big loads for proper braking. And it has a K&M filter. New fuel pump and voltage regulator as of 5k ago. Transmission fluid and brakes redone about 15k miles ago. Sway bar added to the front as well. Tool box and rack included as well. All told there's probably $3,000+ of improvements on this truck in parts alone. And generally these are not vanity improvements, these are almost all functional improvements.
Issues that I know about:
Please be aware that although I know this truck really well, there is no guarantee I have missed something. This is a very old truck with no warranty in used condition. Ok, that said. There's a bit of rust, but not much for the age at all. Garaged more than not and never driven on salted roads. The solenoid for the left turn signal works about 2/3 of time. Otherwise you have to manual blink. The light switch burned out when I was driving on highway 63, so I rigged it in the dark with a toggle switch and never put a new light switch in, works fine. Gas gauge doesn't read, probably needs a sending unit. One of the brake line hoses should be replaced in about 10k miles, fine now, just watch it. Paint job was done by the previous owner, it's not great but probably better than not having it. The rack I bought for $800ish, it's been amazing, but now it has a small tear in one of the tubes, so light stuff only until it gets fixed. I think one of the turn signal bulbs just went out and the brake light trigger is a little sticky sometimes so watch that it doesn't stay on after you park. Probably just needs a squirt of electronics cleaner. The seat cover should be replaced, I normally have it patched with some gaff tape and a blanket on top. The rubber seams are obviously old and a bit of water does get in if it's out in heavy rain. Tires are ok, maybe 30-40% but I'd get new ones in the next 5k miles or so because they're a bit old. I have the spare somewhere as well but it's very rusty.
That's all I can really think of right now. Basically, I just want to find someone who can really use and value this truck.I hate it sitting around so much these days. Let me know if you have any questions. Reasonable offers considered. Please no scams, I promise I'm not nearly as dumb as I look. Thanks for looking.Morgan
