This is a very interesting car, as original as you can find. One owner had been in storage since 1974 with the original car order form from the Dealer. So many of the early mustang are missing this type of documentation. Runs and drives, cleaned the carb and put new spark plugs in and it started right up sounds very good newer exhaust so its quite, also I see new rear shocks and right tie rod were installed just before being parked. only the emergency brake works. Shift through all the gears. The water pump needs to be replaced leaks and noisily, The original order form is dated 4/23/1966 and lists the options that the car was ordered with. Car has a Manufacture date of 6/06/66 and was ordered with the following options
289 2v, 4 speed trans top loade, am radio, Tinted glass, HD battery, Special handing package ( GT steering box and larger diameter front sway bar and HD suspension front and rear) deluxe woodgrain steering wheel. The only missing item is the HD battery from original. The original order form will come with the car.
Original Tahoe Turquois Metallic (Color code U) paint no repaints, what you see is exactly what you get. Having the original order form is very rare, the gentleman ordered the car before he was married and wanted the bench seat so his then girlfriend could set next to him. They did get married and in 1974 the car was parked with the intention of restoring it. The carpet was pulled out and some of the floor pans rust was removed, so the car had been waiting for 40 years waiting for someone to restore it. The rans was run once a year for 30 years or so after being parked so that probably why it didn’t not take much to get it running again. Please remember it been parked since 1974, When we pulled the car out of the garage the front brakes with locked up the bakes were then removed so we could load the car on the trailer. Will provide the original owner phone number to the winning bidder so you can hear the full store about the car.
The convertible top opens and closed effortlessly, motor runs good, water pump needs to be replaced. All the body panels are useable some repair on the driver quarter was started. Radio even works. Doors open and close with binding. I cannot stress the originality of this car. The front valance is the only exterior panel that needs to be replaced and is included in with the car but not pictured. The convertible top can be saved just replace the rear window.
Frame rails are good, needs floors and inner rocker repaired or replaced. This is a very original car with only 71,000 miles. Well work fixing it up and or driving as a survivor after your do the rust repairs and brakes. Clear title in hand, shipping is the buyer reasonability but will help in any way possible.
