1984 Mustang GT Pro Street Project w/87-93 style Cervinis stalker kit.
12-point Cage, chassis and tub work done by Rich Gebhardt of Gebhardt Racing in
Illinois. This is one of the cleanest back half jobs you will ever see. We bought the car from an older gentleman in Illinois who had owned it since new and raced off and on over the years. When we bought the car, it had a big block ford in it. We pulled the car in the shop for an engine swap and it turned into a complete ground up rebuild.
What we started out to build was the worlds BADDEST Fox body. My friend and business partner started building this car a few years ago. I helped him with a lot of the work. He passed away almost 2 years ago now and unfortunately, we have not been able to finish this amazing project. He is survived by his daughter who started college this year and needs the money from this car to help with tuition. I had hoped to finish it and sell it for her to maximize how much she could get but time flew by and she has started school already, so it will be sold as is or for parts. Someone will get a great deal and probably get it for pennies on the dollar. I realize the car is probably not worth the sum of its parts, so we will see what it brings I guess. There has been 10s of thousands of dollars spent and I will try my best to list all the parts.
We stripped everything off and started with just the Gebhardt chassis and mustang body. Engine bay was completely smoothed, all holes filled, and Team Z fixed caster camber plates welded in. Engine bay was painted with House of colors candy blue prior to engine going in. We built one of the strongest 9-inch rear ends we could using ALL new parts including new S&W fab housing. Then we installed a new Race Craft front K member, ball joints and arms along with Afco coilover struts. Wilwood brakes up front and Strange drag style brakes in the rear. Weld wheels all around with double bead locks in the rear. Then we installed the 347 with Hampton blower and nitrous plate. Backed up by a brand new Dynamic Mighty mite C4 X6 trans with new 10" converter. Reverse manual valve body and trans brake. As the car sits now it just needs paint and body work and some very minor final details to be completed. I have brand new Cervinis front and rear bumper as well as the ground effects pieces to complete. Bumpers need fitted and then the car needs sprayed. That being said the suspension is complete but obviously no miles have been put on, so it is all still needing final setup and adjustment. EVERYTHING on this car is brand new other than the engine and it only had about 20 miles on it before we pulled it from another mustang for this project. I have all the paperwork on the engine from the machine shop who built it as well as a dyno sheet.
