Up for auction is a 27 Ford steel body Roadster Pickup manufactured by Shadow Rods that sits on a modified 32 Ford chassis. The car has under 100 miles on the odometer. It was transported to shows by the previous owner in a trailer.
The car has a clear title.
This car was originally built as a high end show car and has proven it’s self by winning the following:
1) 2017 67th Sacramento Autorama ( Trophy goes with the car)
2) 2017 Street Rodder Top 100
The car started out with the high end rolling High Caliber package from Shadow Rods. That included the following upgrades:
· Chrome and stainless front suspension.
· Chrome Winters Quick Change rear and suspension components.
· Walker radiator for a Ford Flathead motor.
· Electric fan and shroud from Cooling Components.
· Chrome steering column from Ididit.
· Convertible top by Bop Tops with zip in side curtans.
The roadster pickup and bed are steel as manufactured by Shadow Rods. The body of the Roadster is 2 inches wider, 3 inches taller and 4 inches longer and have been designed to follow the specifications of a 32 Ford roadster pick up cab.
The car has been completely gone through by Chopit Kustoms, in Stanton, CA to make the car a driver rather than a show only car.
During the shakedown it was determined that the original flathead needed some serious attention, so a complete new 59 motor was built by Jeff Jones Vintage Engines & Restorations in Fresno, CA. The motor was built and installed on an engine stand. Then started for tuning and break in of the new motor.
The block is a 59X that was cast on January 3, 1945. The block is fitted with a 4 inch stroke Mercury crank.
The front suspension was fitted with a new front spring that replaced the de-arched spring to get additional clearance at the front of the car.
The car has superior fit and finish. The paint is flawless and the interior is top of the line leather.
The transmission is a Ford C4 automatic with a Lowcar shifter.
Wheels are Avanti’s that were manufactured by Real Rodder Wheels and now manufactured by American Rebel Mfg. Each wheel is fitted with Halibrand spinners. The original Hailabrand #7011 wheels were manufactured and offered as a Studebaker dealer option for the 1963 and 64 Avantis, Hawks and Larks.
The car is currently located in Stanton, CA and arrangements for inspection can be made upon request.
Around October 8th, the car will be shipped to Spring Hill, FL and once delivered, inspections can be made upon request.
A $1,000 non-refundable deposit is due within 4 days of the end of the auction.
Payment must clear the bank prior to the car leaving the property.
This car is being sold locally and owner has the right to end the auction early.
