Here's a true hot rod right down to the custom flame paint. But just because this 1940 Ford Business Coupe looks aggressive and the V8 sounds mean, doesn't mean you won't be coddled by its air-conditioned comfort. Red hot and seriously custom... that's the first impression this coupe makes. No need to chop the pre-war steel because with the bright bumpers, brighter alloys, and a forward-leaning stance, this one already has the intimidation factor of a freight train.... Plus, the cream paint makes for the perfect canvas to lay down the custom flame work. The deep maroon consumes the hood and flows into the door line with a terrific symmetry. And the fire's fade into blue tips makes this look fast just standing still. Plus, with pinstriping on the trunk, painted running boards, and frenched LED taillights, you can tell there was a lot of time spent on the details, too. Inside it feels like no expense was spared to give this businessman's coupe modern convenience. Two tones of maroon give this a very uniform feeling on the seats, carpeting, and custom door panels. This theme is even carried over to the trunk - the Ford scrip embossed in a Chevy logo back there is a cool hint at this car's construction. Up front there's an upgraded cloth bench seat that has individual armrests for bucket-like comfort. Plus, there's now a rear bench - a rarity in business coupes. The dash matches the exterior cream, and there's even pinstriping to make this feel like a very thoughtful custom build. And while this dash has a custom appearance, it now contains all the right modern amenities, including a full AutoMeter gauge package, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and controls for the cold R134a air conditioning. This is a genuine hot rod, so the original flathead V8 has been swapped for a more powerful 350 cubic-inch crate motor from Chevy (remember the logo in the trunk?) It has all the right flair with the smooth firewall, bright valve covers, polished alternator, and much more. And we especially like the big air grabber with maroon-painted ridges to coordinate with the rest of the car. And as you dig deeper, you'll see all the right supporting components, like serpentine belts and an electric fan. This V8 inhales deeply through an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales freely as shorty headers feed the dual exhaust. This is a driver's machine, and so you'll see plenty of great upgrades as you look at the undercarriage photos. This includes the Mustang II-style front suspension, front disc brakes, and ladder bar rear with monoleaf compensation. Plus, with power steering, a TH350, three-speed automatic transmission, and cruise control, this is the kind of custom that you can easily enjoy near or far. When you want a distinct custom that's both powerful and comfortable, this one checks all the right boxes. So don't let this custom build slip away, call today!
