Mustang moved upscale with the early 70's redesign. The car was wider and longer than previous models with a nicely trimmed out interior. It became a more refined Pony car. But it retained its sporty nature and still had serious engines like the 351 in this one. Classic Mustangs from every era are rising in value. Here is your chance to own a great looking and great driving classic. Presented in the factory correct Medium Blue with... a black vinyl roof, this car is sharp looking. Up front, a familiar grill with the galloping Pony in the center trimmed with chrome is now underlined by a body colored bumper. The leading edge of the long hood, which had become a beloved Mustang characteristic, is also body colored accentuating the look even further. The sharp edge along the top of the fenders and the crease along the beltline bear an obvious family resemblance. A black two-tone treatment along the rocker panels complement the black roof and contrasts nicely with the blue giving the car a long, low look. Sail panels sweep off the roof to the rear edge of the trunk lid. The view from the rear should look very familiar with a chrome bumper underlining the iconic triple taillights with a Mustang gas cap in the center and dual chrome exhaust tips peeking out from underneath. Open the door and you will find a blue interior, which, like the paint, is also as it was delivered from the factory, and is all in very nice shape. The high back bucket seats up front have stitched centers with plenty of room to stretch your legs while still leaving some room for traveling companions in the back seat. A large center console has a nicely padded armrest and couple of cup holders. All those things make the car nice for cruising. But its has a serious side to its personality too. So, grab hold of the steering wheel and you will see that a tachometer is mounted front and center on the steering column. Just behind it is the speedometer, and on the floor, just in front of the T-handle shifter for the 3-speed automatic transmission, are gauges for oil pressure, water temperature and battery voltage. Now pop that gloriously long hood open and you will find a 351 Windsor V8 motor nestled nicely down in a neat and clean engine bay. This is a really nice upgrade from the original V8 the car came with. It has a chrome air topper with a 351 4V sticker, along with an Edelbrock carburetor and manifold on the intake side. The exhaust is handled by long tube headers with Flowmaster mufflers which give the car a great sound. Ford Blue engine paint happens to look really good with the blue of the car and is extra sweet on the finned aluminum valve covers. An aluminum radiator keeps things running cool and this engine runs strong. Front disc brakes provide the stopping power you need if you let this Pony run, and the rubber meets the road through 215/70R14 tires mounted on great looking Magnum 500 wheels all around. Great looking, great driving, with a healthy 351 under the hood.
