The Boss 429 Mustang is a high-performance Ford Mustang variant that was offered by Ford in 1969 and 1970. The Boss 429 (also known as the "Boss 9" by enthusiasts) is arguably one of the rarest and most valued muscle cars to date. In total there were 1358 original Boss 429s made. The origin of the Boss 429 came about as a result of NASCAR. Ford was seeking to develop a Hemi engine that could compete with the famed 426... Hemi from Chrysler in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series (then known as "Grand National Division"). NASCAR's homologation rules required that at least 500 cars be fitted with this motor and sold to the general public. After much consideration, it was decided by Ford that the Mustang would be the car that would house this new engine. GR Auto Gallery is honored to bring this 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 to the market for the first time. Recently out of long term ownership, this Mustang was fully restored in 1984 by New Life Mustang in LA and was restored to compete in the Mustang Club Of America Cold Concours competition. It is numbers matching restoration. The car was completely redone inside and out and is finished in Candy Apple Red. The car is absolutely stunning and the older restoration is still very nice. After the restoration was completed, the car was stored in a climate controlled warehouse and was driven sparingly. This car was produced on June 4th and is number 673. The car was equipped with the 429cid V8 and ram air hood, 4-speed manual transmission, 3.91:1 Traction lock differential, front spoiler, high back seats, visibility group, power steering, power front disc brakes, competition suspension, AM radio, color keyed mirrors, and much more. A stunning and extremely rare model, these Mustangs are increasing in value everyday and are definitely investment pieces. Now is your chance to pick one up before the crest into the seven figure range. To see over 80 photos of this car, including undercarriage please visit our website
