You are looking at a freshly restored 1955 Thunderbirdwith only 80 miles put on it since the restoration!
In 2016 I was finishing up a degree and decided to purchase this car to restored it which turned out to be way more work than I originally intended! After sandblasting, I discoveredsome serious rust problems that turned this project into a two and half year restorations project that I saw the entire way through. It came out to about 32 panels I replaced in total! The entire body was skim coated and blocked by hand. I refinished it with Marten Senior paint that I color sanded and buffed to remove dirt’s and most of the orange-peel.
The engine is a 292 that was torn down and re-ringed. The heads were gone through and a new cam was placed in the block as well. It runs good now with no leaks, oil burning, or taping/knocking sounds. The frame was completely striped of its parts, painted, and reassembled with new suspension bushings, brakes, tires and exhaust.
Upholstery is a kit from Larry’s Thunderbird that I installed myself. The seat has new foam under it and the headlineris new as well. Many of the dash component are new and I installed a digital original looking radio.
I made a video series on the restorationprocess. There are three movies and at the end of the first two there is a link to watch the next one. (the third video will be uploaded in a few days)
This car is for someone who is looking for a clean fresh Thunderbirdthat would make a fun and reliable driver. It may need a few adjustments like the hard top clamps need to be adjusted butover all this car is ready to go.
Ask any questions you would like and I can send additional photos if desired. The sale of the car is sold as is and a deposit is required within the first 48 hrs through Pay Pall after the auction is closed.
Thanks,
Dan
