Stunning 1957 Ford E-Thunderbird finished in Flame Red with Red Interior. Highest quality frame off and fully restored example with only 5 miles since restoration. This beautiful example is powered by it's original 'born-with' 312ci V8 engine that's been professionally rebuilt, with dual 4bbl Holley carburetors. A smooth shifting Ford-O-Matic Transmission delivers power to pavement. The E-Code example is a sought-after variant that featured the optional 312ci V8 Engine, which produced an impressive 270hp/336lb-ft of torque. This engine... had a longer bore, longer stroke, higher compression ratio, and an automatic choke compared to the other engine options available for the Thunderbird. It is one of the most desired versions of the 1957 Thunderbird, as there were only 1,449 produced. This fabulous Thunderbird is an all numbers matching example and has factory options that include; power steering, power brakes, a Town & Country radio, and the trademark Porthole hardtop. It has a new set of Kelsey-Hayes wire wheels and comes with its original invoice to authenticate the car. A sensational and all numbers matching E-Thunderbird that is one of the best of the best and shouldn't be missed. It is a multiple show-winning car that was awarded the Senior Class Gold Award in its inaugural showing, at the 2015 New Mexico Classic Thunderbird Club International Show (Concours 1 - Most Authentic Class). The Ford Thunderbird was the answer to GM and the 1953 Chevrolet Corvette they built. In 1955, Ford decided it was their turn and gave full reigns to their team to design a two-seater that was for the everyday person but held their own against the competition Chevy was putting out there. Though the first installment wasn't as fast as those from Chevy, they eventually solidified the Thunderbird as a classy two-seater with power. 1957 would end up being the last version of the Thunderbird that was known for its sporty demeanor and allowed only two people in the cabin (until 2002), as they would redesign and enlarge the model moving forward.
