1986 Ford F-250 XLT Lariat Additional Info:
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is one of the nicest 7th generation F-250s you’ll find for sale. With only 74,000 miles since new, this Texas truck has been very well cared for and garaged its entire life. Originally fitted with a camper, this truck was fully optioned-out for towing but rarely did more than unloaded travel. The truck drives exceptionally well, but do keep in mind that this truck rides like a heavy duty truck. If you hit a speed bump at 30, your ass will leave the seat and you’ll hit your head if you’re not wearing a seatbelt. I’ll do my best to represent every aspect of the truck, but feel free to text if you have specific picture/video/information requests: 512.653.0773
MECHANICAL:This truck features a carbureted 460 + C6 engine and transmission combo (code L and K respectively) with an open diff 3.55 rear gear (code 39). The drivetrain is 100% original to the truck and retains all original aspects that are sometimes modified on these trucks. The fuel system retains the factory dual tank switcher with dual in-tank electric fuel pumps (one per tank). Whether you think it’s good or bad, the truck is 100% how it left the factory with emissions equipment (all vacuum lines, dual air pumps, etc.). Exhaust system is the factory unit and is without leaks and retains all original heat shields. Steering has zero play in it, and the truck tracks straight down the road.
Recent maintenance (last 2,000 miles):
- New tie rods (moog) with correct alignment (cold bends);
- New in-tank fuel pump (front tank);
- New brake master cylinder;
- New tires (correct 235/85/R16 commercial tires);
- Transmission filter and fluid change;
- Engine oil/fitler change (100 miles ago);
EXTERIOR:The paint is 100% original with no evidence of any accidents. No, the paint isn’t perfect; there are scratches, some fading of the pinstripes, and a section of weathered paint on the very back of the bed on the driver’s side (see the pictures — about the size of a greeting card). The inside of the bed might be as nice as I’ve ever seen on a truck (especially a pickup of this age). No major rust at all — the only thing you’ll find is some tiny areas of surface rust on the frame.
INTERIOR:There’s no doubt that the rest of this truck is amazingly nice, but the interior is as factory new as you will find. There is hardly a blemish to be found anywhere — from the headliner to the perfectly preserved carpet. Everything is 100% factory with the original radio instruction card still stuck to the dash where the factory placed it. Zero cracks or blemishes in the dash and all window and door rubber is soft. Everything works — power windows, power locks, cruise control, all gauges, radio, all lighting, cold A/C, etc.
Well, that’s that! Good luck!
