1936 Ford Club Cabriolet Convertible Additional Info:
This is an Opportunity to purchase a rare and collectable resto-hot rod. The car was a restored car in 1979. After the passing of the owner in or around 2008, the car was sold to the owner of a speed shop(California), and was turned into a traditional type build, duplicating what would appear as a 1960's hot rod. The motor is a late 327 Chevy with a mild cam, bored out, two- two barrel carbs, and dressed up finned valve covers and an alternator made to look like a generator. The transmission is a 350 turbo with shift kit, coupled to a 9 inch Ford rear, with parallel leaf springs. The front is a dropped I-beam Ford axle. There was much attention to detail, for example the 41-48 Lincoln transparent steering wheel, and the buffalo nickel/ skeleton insert in the shift knob. The instruments are restored Stewart Warner surrounded by a vintage Stewart Warner gauge bezel. The interior and Top ( Lebarron Bonnie) were replaced about three years ago. The front seat was altered with dense foam to eliminate sagging springs, and increase the drivers leg room having been moved back about four inches with custom brackets. A small percentage of the paint on the car is still from the 1979 restoration, however fenders, hood, headlight buckets, and tail light stands were repainted a couple years ago improving the cars appeal. A replated high quality grille finishes off the front of the car. Behind that grill is the top of the line Walker radiator with a spal electric fan, as well as the mechanical fan on the engine side of the radiator. The running board covers were also replaced recently. There is a high priced radio mounted below the dash in the glove box area. I will be happy to answer questions, and allow inspections of the car with prior notice. The new owner will be responsible for delivery of the car to it's new home. I will need a deposit thru Paypal, and full payment to be paid within 7 days after the close of the auction. Feel free to email, or call between 10 am and 7 pm Midwest time with questions...Larry 319-230-7774. I just had a question about the body on the car....YES it is an all steel car...thank you
