Listing this car for my painter. He does high end work and is very experienced in proper foxbody restoration. No money involved, just trying to find a home for this amazing car and respect his work enough to put my name on the line for it.He purchased the car probably 10 years ago as a complete running project but it needed a floor and a door. He received a ton of nice original parts in the deal. This car was built for himself with his high as usual attention to detail, no reproduction floor pan here- an original from a donor car, one little spot weld at a time. It is an excellent restoration. He completely stripped the body to bare metal and repaired any and all damage to original. Every piece of trim and part was scrutinized and replaced with the best original parts possible. To my knowledge the wheels, exhaust, carpet, new weatherstrip, and the usual tune up parts are the only non-Ford parts on the car. He has the original ten hole wheels as well.
The engine was replaced by the previous owner and is not the 86 smog truck anymore, it came from a 92 GT and is bone stock down to the intake and exhaust manifolds. It was low mileage and has seen little driving other than to keep her lubed up and running right. The engine was swapped so he could later go with performance parts but he never got there. The engine compartment has been detailed to stock by Horseplay Auto in Jupiter. AC needs a recharge from sitting so long but is new at time of restoration with all associated parts. The transmission was rebuilt by Promotion, new clutch and all the associated bits came at that time. This is a turn-key take it to the local car show or drive to California kind of car that has been in indoor storage since the completion of the restoration.
Interior is all original parts with the exception of the carpet and weatherstrip. These were part of the goodies that came with the car and only the best were put to use. Original upholstery was cleaned and repaired byus, Horseplayauto along with the rest of the interior. You are looking at unmolested parts that were saved for many years to complete this car. Small tear in the rear of the passenger seat. Speaker grilles have been replaced, not in the pics but there now. The original premium sound radio is in the car and needs speakers to be heard, if you fiddle with the radio it tries to work so repairable. The hatch shade is still intact and it has a set of fog light covers as well. The gauges are bright and clear, all lettering on the signal stalks is clean, cruise steering wheel in excellent condition. The list goes on and on. This is like buying an original car that has been gone through, repainted and put back together with an emphasis on preserving everything we could.
For those of you who have done a restoration you know that the asking price is very low for what it costs to do this kind of work. Feel free to come take a look at the car, you will not be disappointed. Feel free to call Freddy at 561-644-3391 The car is fairy priced and you could not build on for the money, especially when you factor in the rarity of the original parts on the car. T
