1979 Ford Pinto Additional Info:
EBAY 7 DAY AUCTION ENDING SATURDAY JULY 14:: One of a kind!! 1979 Ford Pinto "Cruising Wagon". Yes, this is how it came from the factory, Ford's idea to capitalize on the conversion van craze of the 1970's. This car has spent it's entire life in Garland Texas, the second owner acquired it in 1981, the 1981 title reflects this. Garage kept, original yellow paint and graphics. Was represented as 80k actual miles, however must be sold as "exempt" due to the age. Fully equipped: V6, Automatic, Power Steering, Power DISC Brakes, Factory Air Conditioning, AM-FM Radio, sport mirrors, Tach and full gauges. Great looking 3 spoke sport steering wheel. Interior is in incredible condition; seats, dash, armrests, headliner are not torn or split. Carpet is fading a little - could be dyed. All of the glass has the original Carlite stamps, including the original windshield & Round Portholes. There are no vertical scratches on the side glass; no wiper scratches or rock chips on the windshield. Metal rear window louvers. I don't know if the pop-up sunroof is original or dealer added - glass has "Guardian" logo, pops up easily and does not appear to have ever leaked. Has been sitting since neighbor backed into the left front fender. I started it up (didn't need to be jumped) and got it 4 miles to my place. Will need brakes adjusted/bled, power steering leak and radiator leak addressed- so No, you can't drive it home,, bring a trailer. No belt on the A/C compressor - does turn. Gauges appear to function, tach does not. Wiper knob is missing. Does start right up, transmission shifts properly. Tires are new, just don't know when they were put on. The original wheels are faded down to the primer - just a light layer of surface rust. One of the centercaps is missing. As mentioned above, it will need the front bumper, left front fender and the headlight box replaced, it looks like the turn signal lense is salvageable. The 2 yellow vertical pieces on the rear are included - see picture. Was a tall SUV that did the damage, so nothing was hurt underneath. Lots of touch-up, dings, nicks, scratches and "patina" throughout, not as good as the pictures make it appear (kinda like internet dating from what I'm told). Very solid underneath. I have numerous additional pictures on my website: Bobzcarz.com I do not have a "buy it now" price and will let the auction play out.
