Here is my 92 Taurus, SHO, 5-speed, up for sale after almost 25 years of ownership. This car has been pampered. It has never seen winter roads while I have owned it. It has been garage kept (except for last winter when I was out of space inside), and is in excellent condition. It was filled with Ethanol-free, 100% gasoline during winter storage.
I’ve owned it since it came off lease back in 1994. Some of the more significant maintenance items are as follows:
Date Miles Replaced
2/15/96 71383 Checked timing belt, replaced accessory belts
9/11/96 72945 Oil Pressure switch
11/18/96 73799 Rear rotors and brake pads
11/23/96 73925 Front rotors and brake pads
11/24/96 73960 Tires – Goodyear Eagle GT+4
11/26/96 73990 Rear struts (lifetime warrantee) and 4 wheel alignment
12/6/98 87385 Changed coolant to Prestone Extended
6/2/99 87842 Converted AC system to R134a repaired leaks and charged
8/13/99 88169 Replaced Front Struts and bearing plates, left front wheel bearing and tires (Pirelli P4000’s) and then 4-wheel aligned.
6/11/00 91620 Exhaust heat shield
9/18/01 97000 Left rear rotor and rear brake pads
9/6/04 103420 Water pump, Crankshaft Sensor, Radiator, Hoses, Timing belt, Accessory belts, Thermostat, Coolant, Battery

9/6/10 112861 Spark Plugs
6/25/11 114335 Antenna mast, Front brake pads, Climate control assembly
6/25/12 115223 Catalytic Converters
9/2/12 115525 Rear brake calipers, pads and hoses
9/27/15 117181 Battery

6/12/17 117711 AC compressor and accumulator and hose, cooling system hoses, accessory belts
The old stock radio I removed doesn’t work, but will be included. I bought a Lincoln radio to replace it, but found out the numbers were green instead of aqua. I will include this too. I think you will like the aftermarket radio I put in, as shown. The dash light on, shown in the picture, is the parking brake indicator light, since the brake is on and the engine running.
The climate control has been upgraded to the newer style with the solid buttons. The earlier ones had the thin plastic buttons that split over time. Let me know if you want the old one.
You’re likely here because you already know about the SHO so I won’t go into the specs. This is the more rare and more fun 5-speed. The blue color is also rare. It is likely to only go up in value.
I’ve had this for almost half my life, and if I still had the space to keep it inside during winters, it wouldn’t be for sale. With my latest acquisition, it got displaced.
I have it listed for sale locally, so I reserve the right to remove it from the eBay auction at any time for any reason.
For those wondering how far I would trust driving it, I would trust driving it as far as you feel like sitting in it. We are located in North-East Ohio, near the intersection of routes 322 and 44.
Email if you have any questions.
I think the pictures speak for themselves, but, if after looking at it in person, it is not what you expected from the description, I will refund your deposit and cancel the transaction, so bid with confidence!
It’s not in the $24,000 showroom condition it was in when new, but being inside, out of the weather most of its life has kept it in great shape. You would be hard pressed to see one of these in this shape and cared for by the same owner for so long, let alone seeing it for sale.
I hope to see it go to another good home. Good luck bidding!
