1981 Ford F-250 Ranger Additional Info:
Up for sale is my 1981 Ford F-250 4X4 Ranger Edition Pickup Truck. I absolutely love this truck but unfortunately money is a little tight right now and I have to let it go. I will describe each section of the vehicle below so please read carefully and look at all pictures (ask for additional pictures if needed). It is sold as described to the best of my knowledge... I would never purposely leave details out or try to trick someone into buying something they don't want so please ask any questions you may have and I will do my best to answer them. The truck is a very good truck and please don't feel like I am trying to make it sound bad by pointing out all the little details because I just want to be thorough, most issues are very minor. You can get in this truck and drive it away today (although read below about an intermittent minor issue I have been having) and it also looks great! The vehicle has a clean and clear Oregon Title signed off by previous owner and I will also include a bill of sale from me to new owner to show proper paper trail.
Exterior Description: Black and silver color combo is awesome! Body is mostly straight although it does have some chipped paint, scratches and a little bit of surface rust (see pictures, plus I have additional pictures of minor defects if needed but tried to show the worst ones). Unfortunately there is some damage to the rear driver's side behind rear wheel (dented and rusted), please see pictures. Overall the paint looks great and body is really straight and nice. There is a little minor surface rust on chrome here and there as well. There is a missing piece of black trim also (see picture). Although it has some blemishes this truck is still a head turner but not so extremely nice that you are afraid to drive it up in the mountains.
Wheels and Tires: Wheels are aftermarket and very nice and the tires have plenty of tread. There is also a spare stored underneath the bed of the truck.
Engine & Transmission: This Truck has the 351 (Windsor I believe) engine with an automatic transmission. Not sure how many miles are on it (odometer reads 20,554). The truck runs, drives and shifts very good other than one minor issue I have been having. The truck would randomly die (not from idling low or running rough, just unexpectedly die... when I am cruising along at 55 mph), I would try to start it and it usually would take a few tries before starting back up but then would run again just fine. It started doing this more and more often and someone told me it was probably the Ignition Control Module, so I replaced that and it run for several weeks without dying. But recently it did it again so I am not sure what the underlying issue is. It runs great other than this one random, unexpected issue. Yes, it can be a little cold-blooded but always starts up (other than this weird issue causing it to not start right away but always starts again and drives home). Transmission seems to work great and I believe the 4 wheel drive works fine as well but I haven't really had to use it since I have owned it. NOTE: Because of this one issue where it randomly dies I suggest towing it home or at least being prepared that it may die on the way home if you do decide to risk it. I can drive it into town and around the countryside comfortably but I would be concerned on a long drive.
Interior: The interior is in really nice condition with a few minor exceptions. There is a small tear in dash pad (see picture) and some minor wear and blemishes. Radio with CD & AUX works well. Heater works good (no air conditioning in this truck), all lights, turn signals, both gas tanks (fuel gauge) and all additional gauges, everything I can think of seems to work well. The cover for the interior light is missing and I believe the fog lights are not hooked up, nor are the additional backup lights that were added to the truck. Driver's seat has a little wear but nothing is torn up or destroyed other than a little bit of the carpet underneath the rubber mats.
Known Issues:- The random issue of dying intermittently but always restarting (probably biggest issue although it may be a very simple fix if diagnosed)- Again I will mention the surface rust, scratches, chipped paint and the one larger dent with rust through (see picture).- There are some cracks in windshield but do not effect visibility yet and do not leak.- Truck can be a little cold started but always idles nice and smooth once warmed up.- That is about all I can think of again if there is something else I remember I will add it to the description
Overall its a good vehicle that you can drive home (depending on how far of course...and if you want to risk the dying issue). With very little work this can be an everyday driver, restoration project or just a really nice work, farm or hunting truck. I love the look of it and it definitely will be missed! Again ask questions if you have any! Thanks!
Payment Information: ATTENTION: I would prefer cashier's check or a wire transfer if everything is legitimate (I will not fall for a scam or do anything shady) but can also accept PayPal if preferred (although I will loose a lot of profit to the fees). I do need Payment in full or at least on its way with 3 days (AGAIN DO NOT BID ON TRUCK IF YOU CAN NOT HAVE PAYMENT HERE OR ON ITS WAY WITH 3 DAYS). Thank you!
