Long Bed Muscle / Shop Truck, C6 Tranny, Beautiful 39 year old Patina.

1979 Ford F-150 Explorer Additional Info:

1979 long bed F-150. Bought from original owners 5 year ago. Truck was purchased new by the grandfather who then gave it to his grandson who sold it to me. The chassis has about 85,000 miles on it and the motor, transmission and suspension / drive-train have about 7,000 miles.
Since my ownership, it has always been garage kept and used as a weekend toy. I have installed a professionally built and balanced 0.30 over Ford 302 ci with re-worked mustang GT heads, 280/290 Lunati cam, Holly Terminator electronic fuel injection, new fuel tank with aeromotive in-tank pump and all stainless steel braided lines with AN fittings, long tube headers, full 2.5" exhaust (dumps under truck), professionally built and customized HARD hitting C6 transmission, B&M ratchet shifter with line-lock, new front and rear sway bars, new front springs, new lowering I-beams, leaf spring re-location kit, custom drive-shaft and a heavy duty 4 pin, 3:70 posi rear end. New tires on the front, descent on the rear. Truck puts about 275 hp to the wheels. All original interior except for recovered seat. A few cracks on the dash pad. Truck is an AC truck which is not installed but all necessary items will go with the truck.
This truck isn't for everybody. It's hot in the summer, low and loud, it chirps and/or spins the tires in second gear and guzzles gas. No major rust, no major holes just a beautiful patina finish and minor surface rust, 39 years in the making.
Truck is solid and drives very well at highway speeds (at 3800 rpm). Handling is much better than stock. Truck has always been reliable and is ready a for any road trip. No disappointments !
