This car won Second Place in its class at the 2017 Chico Concours d’Elegance. It is titled in my name, registered and insured, and can be driven anywhere. The exterior is in excellent condition, with no evidence of rust anywhere. The aftermarket radio features a faceplate that matches the Thunderbird dash, has five pushbuttons controlling 12AM and 18FM presets, three equalizer presets plus treble, bass, and fader control, and rear auxiliary input. But for the fact that this car could use new front carpets and the clock does not work, the interior – including the overhead console – is in excellent condition. There is one crack in the steering wheel at the 12 o’clock position and no cracks in the dashboard. The interior top of the driver’s side door is showing some wear, as is the driver’s seat back. The swingaway wheel functions as it should, the vacuum-release parking brake also functions properly, and the sequential turn signals work great. One drawback is the persistent stumble when starting from a standstill, probably due to incorrect accelerator pump nozzle, (which I may get around to replacing.) Once underway, the engine is smooth and powerful and the transmission shifts smoothly. The brakes work fine, but after successive hard stops or trips down the twisty mountain road from my house, the front discs start to warp, causing a pulsation in the brake pedal, but no loss of stopping power. A previous owner installed a multi-piece trunk liner, but did a sloppy job. The cover for the trunk lock has come off, but a new trunk lock is included in the purchase. Also, the original hubcaps, air cleaner, and non-functional AM radio are included in the purchase.
