GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1971 Ford Ranchero GT for consideration. This rare 1971 Ranchero GT is one of only 3,632 GT models produced in '71, it is in exceptional condition and well-appointed with many factory options. The original owner(s) of this Ranchero wanted to restore it and begun the process in the late 1990's at Rossi Repair in Grants Pass, OR; the engine was sent out to a professional rebuilder (Southworth Inc. Eugene, Oregon); engine then... was reinstalled by Rossi Repair. The owners couldn't pay for the engine work so James Rossi then stored the vehicle inside his shop awaiting payment. The vehicle sat for the next twelve years inside Rossi Repair; eventually the owners lost interest and Rossi filed a Mechanics Lien with the DMV; Rossi decided to sell the vehicle and completed the following restorative repairs to get it cleaned up again: cleaned and sealed gas tank, new fuel pump, aftermarket carburetor (later replaced with correct factory carb), new water pump, rebuilt front disc brakes (new pads, rotors, and calipers) and new rear brakes (cylinders and brake shoes). From there, this Ranchero was purchased by a gentleman out of Bend, Oregon in September of 2012 - it was repainted by Rossi in June of 2013 (color change from Grabber Blue to Bright Red) and other parts have been replaced; NOS kick-down solenoid, new choke tube, reproduction fuel filter, original air cleaner, NOS original PVC valve, new PVC hoses reproduction coil installed, original rear bumper, reproduction door seals, reproduction radiator hoses and heater hoses, new temperature sender, NOS ported vacuum switch, new exhaust gaskets, replaced brake hoses and master cylinder, reproduction vacuum hoses and various NOS knobs, emblems, and fasteners. The 351 Cleveland V8 was rebuilt at 81,400 miles. In September 2016, the original mileage was at 81,655 and it currently sits with 81,880 miles on the odometer.
