1969 Ford Torino TALLADEGA Additional Info:

Here is a rare opportunity to purchase an authentic 1969 Ford Torino Talladega! This is your chance to own and restore a piece of Ford and Nascar history! This rare car is offered as an unfinished project, there has been many rare NOS parts used in its restoration so far! This Talladega was originally Royal Maroon with Black interior.

Ford built the Talladega in 1969 and named them after the speedway, they were built as a more aerodynamic version of the Torino Cobra! They were made available and sold to the public because of Nascar’s homologation rules. Ford built 750 Talladega’s in 1969, they were available in white, blue, and maroon only. All Talladega’s were built with a 428 Cobra Jet and a heavy duty C-6 automatic trans. The nose was extended approx. 6”, with a flush mounted grill and redesigned front bumper. The rocker panels were re-rolled to lower the car an additional 1 ½”! They also were equipped with a 3.25:1, 9” rear axle, staggered rear shocks, an oil cooler and power steering cooler!

This Talladega, vin # 9A46Q192119 is a great project! There has been a tremendous amount of restoration work performed on the body, there have been some unobtainable NOS parts already installed and many more included with the car! A Marti report is included with the car.

The driver’s door, rear quarter panel, and Talladega only rocker panel are NOS pieces! The hood, hood hinges, both front fenders, front bumper and bumper guards are NOS as well! The car has been media blasted and is in etch primer.

The car has been completely disassembled for a rotisserie restoration, it is 95% complete and comes with a 68 Fairlane fastback parts car! The parts car has a decent RH rear quarter panel and a nice tail panel! A partial list of unobtainable NOS parts that have been acquired for this project are as follows:

LH front fender RH front fender

Front bumper & braces front air damn

Fan guard upper oil cooler brkt

Pr door panel emblems pr park lenses

LR quarter panel LH door

LH rocker panel Hood hinges

Hood Hood Latch

LR quarter extension Speedometer

The following is a partial list of restored parts, ready to be installed:

There are many, many more parts not listed, some duplicates that come with the car! It has a perfect dash pad, lower dash, complete set of seat belts, complete wiring harness, the seats are in excellent condition (they still need upholstered, nos cloth included), original radiator, battery tray, solid rear bumper core, and many more!

The date correct, 428 CJ engine is not original to the car but correct for it. The engine is complete and was running when the previous owner purchased it for the car! It still has the correct exhaust manifolds on it, Some of the brackets and pulleys have been removed and restored. The hipo, cast tailshaft, C-6 is correct as well! The carburetor that comes with the car is not the original Holley. It has the correct 3.25:1, open 9” rear axle with staggered shocks under it!

The car will need the restoration completed, there is a lot of work left to be finished however the worst of the body work is done! As you can see in the pictures, it needs a passenger rear quarter panel and could use a better tail panel. The previous owner, who started the work and did a very impressive job this far was searching for an NOS RH rear quarter panel and tail panel when the project stalled and I purchased it. I am including a 1968 Fairlane fastback parts car with a decent rear quarter and nice tail panel on it. The parts car can also supply many unknown parts that will be needed for the restoration!

A Marti report is included with the car, the breakdown of the vin# 9A46Q192119 is:

This is a rare opportunity to purchase a real, project 69 Torino Talladega! There is a reserve on the car, I will not disclose it and I will not end the auction early. the reserve is much less than what has been spent on the restoration of the car. If you are close enough for a personal inspection, I welcome and encourage it. Please ask questions before bidding. The Talladega has a clear title to be provided to the new owner when full payment has been received. A $1000 deposit is due within 24hrs, the balance in seven days. The car should be removed within two weeks. I will work with the new owner on pickup time as long as it is arranged prior to the end of the listing. This is a used, restoration project that must be towed. The car is sold as-is, where-is! Please ask any question before the end of the auction! I can send more pictures if requested and will answer questions to the best of my knowledge. The 68 Fairlane parts car does not have a title and is included for parts only! If you're an international buyer, I will pack the parts in the two cars and assist your transporter with loading. The transporter is the new owners responsibility.
