The Beast
ONE OF A KIND 1971 F250 Camper Special(formerly 2wd). Now rolling on a 1975 F250 Hi-Boy 4x4 frame upgraded with 1979 one-ton Dana axles (3.73 gear ratio) and one-ton springs. This is an impressive rig and all the hard work has been done.
Driveline:both axles gone through completely:New seals and oil.Inspect and repair pumpkins as necessary.New bearings all the way around.Rebuilt Warn locking hubs.New discs, pads, metal brake lines and bleeder tips up front.Turned drums, new hardware, shoes, wheel cylinders, metal brake lines and emergency brake cable out back.New master cylinder with up-graded booster. All u-joints replaced. Drive-shafts checked for damage and balance. NP206 divorced transfer case: flushed, checked, replaced seals and re-filled. Granny gear four-speed: flushed, checked, replaced seals, re-filled. New fly wheel and high-pressure clutch and new throw-out bearings. Frame sandblasted and painted with rust control paint. Goodyear 285/70/16’s (‘33’s) with aluminum rims.
Engine:lightly built 390 FE with a mild cam.New Edelbrock carb and linkage.New throttle cable.HEI distributor conversion. Wiring gone through and replaced as needed. Edelbrock aluminum intake. Heads machined + valve job. New head gaskets. Good compression.Chrome valve covers and oil pan.Rebuilt steering pump, new water pump and timing chain. All new belts and hoses.New radiator and thermostat.New battery and cables.New Doug headers. Custom dual exhaust with flow-master style mufflers. New starter.
Body:reinstalled with all new biscuits. No rust (SoCal truck).Spray-in bed liner. All chrome there.Custom rear bumper and heavy-duty hitch. Trailer Brake controller installed.
Interior:New black upholstery for the bench seat.Carpet kit a few years ago but still in good shape. Brand new two-layer heat and sound insulation under the carpet. Instrument panel pulled, checked and all burnt bulbs replaced.Aftermarket oil, water and volt gauges. New heater core, fan, control valve and hoses. New sending unit, inlet hose and rubber lines for the gas tank behind the seat.New electric fuel pump and wiring. New window seals in doors.New rear sliding window. Has an older FM/AM cassetteplayer with audio input and 6x9coax speakers in doors. New antenna.
NO RUST ANYWHEREon this truck, except minor surface rust in the bed where the liner has scratched, plus some surface rust on the trailer hitch.Floors, fenders, cab, corners, and hood all solid. Painted about 5 years ago in the original orange. No dents but some scratches are visible.
All work completed within last 14 months except paint. Truck has less than 2500 miles on it since work completed. The odometer read about 55,000 when we started though this was likely 155,000. This has been my daily driver since all the work was completed.
It needs a “saddle-tank” style secondary gas tank as the one from the 2wd will not fitbecause it hits the transfer case. The inlet is there as seen in photos. Emergency brake cable needs to be hooked up. The windshield has a crack. Dash has one crack in it (see photo). Chrome trim could be cleaned up.Sound system could use upgrading.Door panels ok but could be replaced. Crank windows work ok but could use registersrebuilt or replaced. Front tires are good but the rear tires will need replaced soon.
Look at the photos. Ask any questions. I've tried to be as complete as possible. Selling as I bought a new truck. Willing totrade for a 4wd tractor with a loader. I would add $ for the right tractor. Cross-listed. Seller reserves right to endauction early if the truck sells.
Buyer responsible for all transportation costs. I am willing coordinate with atransport truck if that method is used. Buyer responsible for all taxes and license transfer fees. Buyer responsible to insure vehicle once sale is complete.
Full payment required within three days of auction ending. Cashier's check, wire transfer or cash only. No deposits, no payments, no holds.
